Love is a suburban nightmare for Charlotte Lawrence  in the video for her debut single, 'Why Do You Love Me,' providing the perfect mix of dark lyricism and sparse, punchy beats reminiscent of Billie Eilish’s recent oeuvre as the LA-based singer causes a relationship to go up in flames, the clip directed by photographer/filmmaker Alasdair McLellan (The xx, Miu Miu) with creative direction by Marc Kalman (Travis Scott).

Lawrence says about the track via press release:

‘I write easier about sad emotions [...] I think it's so cool to have an upbeat song with dark lyrics. If you tap into an emotion then you can write a whole story. No matter what you're going through it's important to take risks with music. I never want to play it safe.’

'Why Do You Love Me' was produced by Andrew Watt (Lana Del Rey, Cardi B), Louis Bell (Post Malone, Camila Cabello), and singer Charlie Puth (5 Seconds of Summer, Jason Derulo), with Lawrence celebrating its release with her Navy Blue tour, beginning November 7 in Atlanta, Georgia.
