kid hellboy is soo so sad and precious to me bc at first it’s like. awww :) he loves his dad and he loves comic books and pancakes and he wants to be just like the lobster when he grows up, and then it’s like aww :( when he reads Pinocchio for the first time he realizes he also wants to be a real boy and nobody on the base in New Mexico is allowed to make fun of him because he just wants to be like everyone else and at one point he asks the professor if he’s a monster because, even if he’s just “special,” he’s not special like Superman.
and then it’s like oh man, at one point the giant red behemoth you see in the first comic used to be so small the professor could hold him and read him bedtime stories, the guy you see get almost murdered over and over again by people and creatures who simply don’t trust him to be good was once this tiny little four year old who said he’d never swear in front of the president
he’s just so uniquely heartbreaking like i would Kill for more hellboy adaptations to focus on the early years and it would also kill me if they did
You asked and you received. OUR BOY HELLBOY IS HERE! I don't see much fan art of young Hellboy or especially his dog Mac, so I drawn the two together ☺🤭
MORE WILL BE COMING DONT WORRY! STAY CALM!
