I’d like to think that when Mannimarco got banished from Artaeum he did have a moment wherein the rejection hurt. Of course, this was soon to be replaced with resentment.  But this rejection would mark him a traitor. Would shape his inevitable destiny. And the knowledge of this shaped his past, carved out his future and weigh his heart with grief before it became the iron will that would eventually consume him.
