What the heck...is America

So not to get political, but I ‘m getting Political.

     I have nothing to lose when saying this since I don’t have a big following. 

Over the past few months, crazy things have been happening in our political ecosystem. I have very liberal views, but I respect everyone’s opinions so feel free to share after reading. 

Since February of 2019, there has been a stark shift in politics. Many people who don’t follow politics could get easily confused just trying to follow this American mess! I for one, find it hard not to yell at the television. The fact that I get stressed about the future more than people in the Senate, Congress, and White House is absolutely MESSED up. I’m only 16, I shouldn’t be picking up the pieces of past generations. I am supposed to be focusing on building up my generation. Here are some issues that bug me. 

1. Climate change is REAL!!

2. Gun control needs to be taken into account NOW!

3. The cost of college should not equal two houses and a car. PERIOD!

4. Why is it that I need a job to get health care, it should just be available! 

5. Immigrants made this country, slaves built this country, and Native American cultivated the land. If we still want an America, we should appreciate them and not take away their hard work.

Okay, back to the actual reason I’m writing this. We need more people who are for the people by the people. No lobbyists, and money hungry men who collude with foreign entities to get ahead in life. We need women, people of color, and more young people. I am so tired of young people being told that our opinion doesn’t matter, but what does matter is once you all have retired and gone on your Hampton vacations, we will soon be the ones picking up your mess. 

So here is my plea! Listen to young people, listen to Bernie Sanders, listen to Elizabeth Warren, listen to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. When you have people like Moderate Joe Biden, running for the primaries don’t think that there aren’t more capable, more respectable Democrats.  I would also like to hear Joe Biden apologize for his comments during Anita Hill’s hearing. Those comments disregarded black womanhood and we are still facing those effects. 

It is time we TAKE A STAND! We NEED to rise up and fight back. Lets really show the World an America that can be the best!

I can't believe I just published part 5 of what I thought would be a 4-part story! 😜Apparently the floodgates have been opened and I am not one to quit mid-project. ⠀ 🌊 I had my mom proof read this week's post and it both brought her to tears and made her laugh out loud... I hope it does the same for all of you!⠀ 😥🤣 Here are a few snippets:⠀ We ended part 4 with the question, “If you were so passionate about animal rights Ella, why weren’t you out there taking action and protesting?”⠀ ⠀ ...in my young mind, I thought that surely if people only knew what was taking place, they would “see the light” and stop supporting the brutality in the name of a meal, a coat, lipstick, or an evening of entertainment. With that logic in mind, I became heavily involved in the animal rights scene...⠀ ⠀ ...I would sit inside tiny cages, displaying the cramped conditions of chickens.,, I never had a second thought about standing on the side of the road, holding signs and chanting in protest of the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus... I traveled to Pennsylvania for an annual pigeon shoot event, where we ran out into the line of fire in the fields in protest of the mass killing...⠀ ⠀ ...I was also your typical teenager in many ways. I went through the awkward adolescent phase like most everyone.  I dyed my hair, dark, gave my parents one-word answers, broke curfew, drank Boone’s Farm Strawberry Hill, and went to math class high (what can I say… math was right after lunch!)... .
