Today I was blessed enough to observe a bilateral total mastectomy with free nipple this procedure is typical done to remove cancer. This also involves removing all or nearly all of the breast tissue and several nearby lymph nodes. However, it is now used to help with transgender individuals (commonly female to male). They take out the adipose tissue and most of the fat then sew the under the breasts. It’s called a free nipple because the surgeon removes the nipple from the breast then reattaches it after the fatty tissues have been fully removed. It’s quite an art to see.
