Young Camelot is a DIY space in Chicago and they run a pretty tight ship! The sound system is excellent, they have a solid crew, and record every show. I don’t readily say yes to DIY shows, mostly because they can feel precarious and disorganized at times. Young Camelot is an exception. she speaks in tongues played for a festival this past weekend called Bitchfest, which aimed to focus on some female Chicago artists and musicians. The show was a delight and some real good bands!
Playing at DIY spaces always reminds me I can let my hair down more and take risks! There can be a warmth and energy that is really exciting. DIG!
