A twinge of faith restored; -Closed RP
Rick can admit he hasn’t kept track of how long he and Beth have been walking after the house was taken over by bandits. Since the prison, one could easily forget the world was a pentagon of trouble - trapped in each corner was walkers, animals and people too far gone to be redeemed. So why was he anxious to check out Terminus? Perhaps it was the hope Beth kept pressuring into his mind everytime he sat down slightly defeated. Or because she saw her leader losing his humanity.
Rick didn’ t talk to Beth much either, only offered his newly aquired jacket to her on cool nights and reclaimed it at sunrise. Hell, why would she want to talk to the man that watched your father die? That did nothing to stop the destruction of their home?
They spilled { b l o o d }.
Their people? Buried in the prison yard, bodies scattered within and outside. And Rick failed to keep them safe. Maybe the reason for his silence is the loss of Carl? He wasn’t sure if Carl made it from the prison alive — or anyone. Beth made it a rule that they couldn’t be the only survivors and others were bound to have made it. To Rick?…that naive hope is unwholesome. Then again it’s the only damn reason he keeps moving forward, up the train tracks.
But danger lurks around the corner for the both of them. It all started in an abandon hospital with the pair looking for supplies when they came—
— from every room, around every corner. The walkers.
Rick manages to push Beth into a room before firmly slamming his back against the door. “We gotta find a way outta here, Beth. I can’t—” The pounding on the other side of the door intensifies, moaning and scratching pushing his voice aside. Rick can’t hold the door forever…But he’ll hold it until Beth can at least escape to safety.
Daryl Dixon was one to enjoy silence and solitude. However, this silence was almost uncomfortable. He had to open his damn mouth back there, didn't he?
The tracker and Beth had been on their way for some time again, perhaps an hour after the younger girl had calmed herself. He heard little sniffs every now and then but they seemed to have died down by now.
Suddenly, he stopped. A hand went up towards her to signal her to stop as well. That silence? Well it was too quiet.
His head turned and eyes scanned the all too quiet area.
"---Y'hear that?"

I've Got A Feeling - Rick & Beth
Rick had spent the majority of the past few days working in the field away from the rest of the group. His mind was constantly racing with thoughts since the conversation he and Beth had. Her admission of feelings for him had caught him completely off guard. Every time he had seen her since he had felt nothing but confusion and conflict. Lori had been the only woman he had ever loved. He didn’t know if it was possible to care about someone the same way he had cared for her. Carl and Judith had become his priorities since her death. Trying to keep the prison running and fed. Feelings and romance had been the furthest things from his mind. Until now. He couldn’t deny that he had developed, something for Beth. Rick couldn’t put words to the feeling he felt towards her. She cared for his child in the most beautiful way. She was lovely, gentle and sweet and the deep caring nature she had was attractive to him. She had grown into a strong and confident woman since leaving the farm. Perhaps she was exactly what his heart was seeking after becoming such a harsh and hardened man. The logical side battled with the budding emotions. She was significantly younger than he, inexperienced and sheltered in the world until leaving the farm. What would the others think? He was hardly the best husband and he had become even more broken since then, how could he even begin to think he could provide what anyone needed? His focus should be on the survival of his family, not some romance. He had been inadvertently avoiding Beth since they’d spoken. The battling thoughts were at the forefront of his mind and he worried what he might say if he did speak to her. But finally he couldn’t avoid his thoughts or her any longer so he went to find her. Predictably, he found her with Judith. He stood in the doorway for a long moment watching her interact with the baby and couldn’t help the smile that came to his face. He gathered his thoughts before clearing his throat. “Beth? When you have some time, could you maybe come down to the field?”
we've all got jobs to do ┊ + beth.
"Oh god, no..." Her hands cupped her mouth as Beth stood beside her in fear. The Governor had their father and to top that off, Michonne's katana was being held to his neck. She begged that nothing would happen... that maybe Rick could talk some sense into that psychopath. But no. There was no use.
Liar.
The blow was too hard for Maggie to bear. She released the loudest scream her frame could muster and of course, Beth followed suit. The guns were put up and fires were shot all around the place. Explosions here and there. It was too much for Maggie to take in. She ran off for more ammo and that's when she realized that Michonne had taken care of the Gov. The rest of the people retreated or died. Good for them, she thought to herself. So malicious and rightfully so. Zombies were coming in and everyone was split up. Maggie thankfully made it back to Glenn and Beth on the bus. The two sisters hugged and Maggie's fingers fisted into Beth's blonde locks, rocking back and forth as a means of trying to calm her down. "Shh... I-I know..."
