Tonight you decided to just chill at your place and order food for yourself. Even though this evening is supposed to be relaxing and calming, you can't help but feel excited. The reason for that excitement is that your long distance boyfriend is coming over in a week's time!
You really miss him. He moved away from Canada to Korea a bit more than a year ago to be with his family. Of course you've managed to see each other a few times, but it's not the same as seeing the boy you love everyday.
As you were lost in your thoughts about missing your boyfriend, you heard your doorbell ring. You get up, eager to finally eat good food. But when you open the door, it's not the delivery service.
"Surprise !" Martin, your boyfriend, says with a wide grin and sparkling eyes. A beautiful bouquet of your favourite flowers in hand.
You drop your wallet and slap both hands over your mouth. "What the-" you can feel your hands shaking and your eyes getting wet. That was very unexpected.
You basically launch yourself at him, wrapping both arms around his body and holding him closely. "What are you doing here? Oh my god.." your voice trembles with sheer emotion. "I thought you were only coming over next week.. did I get the date wrong?"
Martin chuckles and hugs you back tightly. "You didn't get anything wrong baby. I wanted to surprise you." His hand finds its way to the back of your head, fingers tangling in your hair as he cradles the back of your head. "I just missed you too much to wait until next week." His voice is a soft affectionate whisper in your ear.
You sob into his shoulder, his shirt getting damp but that's not going to make him pull away. If anything he holds you even tighter. "Martin.." you speak with an unsteady breath. "I missed you so much.. I'm so happy right now. I love you." The tone in your voice visibly gets softer when you say those words.
"I love you too y/n." Your name on his lips sounds even better than what you remember. His voice is like a soothing balm to your swelling heart.
Somehow, being in Martin's arm right now feels more like home than anywhere else in the world.
