Something for the YoungSaved & Single's out there...(please also click the title to read the original post by Britt, blogging at savedsingleme.com) This past Sunday I was streaming Greater Emmanuel Institutional COGIC and Bishop Sheard touched on the marriage topic reading from 1 Corinthians 7:33-34. Idk about any of you but just in the last year I have seen so many women around my age (mid to late 20s) getting engaged and married. I am happy for them of course because love and marriage are two beautiful things. But you see it so often it makes you think about yourself and where you are relationship and marriage wise. Me...still single and that's fine. I do believe that God is working on some things in me to prepare me for my future husband....and working on that husband (whoever he is...because God already knows) as well. I totally agree with Britt's blog in that we have to learn not to become so focused on finding that man, that relationship that gets us the ring and takes us down the aisle. This time can be so much more enjoyable and exciting if we give that to God and focus on growing in Him and recognizing and developing the ministry or calling God has placed on our lives. What has God called you to do in His house? Has he opened some doors in your education or career? Maybe even allowed some situations to occur in your life to help you grow out some things and yet still grow into some better things? Whatever the case in your life...God has something He wants each of us to do. I don't think He saved us to show up at church and sit in a pew on Sundays. I think we all have something special in us to help us spread to Gospel and help win souls for Christ. I say all of this to say....let keep our mind stayed on God and let Him do what He can do better than we can do ourselves...that's working things out for our good! (Romans 8:28). Idk about you but I don't want to find myself so thirsty for a relationship, finding a man, or getting married that I end up in a relationship with someone that God didn't intend me to be. Because, we know this flesh will send us off! So let's pray today and ask God for patience while He works on our behalf; strength to not give in to any desires of our flesh; discernment to say to tell those bad apples "Nah bruh my spiritual radar tells me God didn't send you." LOL; and most importantly trust in Him as God knowing that He knows what and who is best for us each and every one of us!
