India’s #young_space_innovators soared high at the #IN_SPACe Model Rocketry & CANSAT India Student Competition 2024-25 in Kushinagar, showcasing exceptional talent with 37 successful rocket and satellite launches. With 67 teams and nearly 600 students from across India, the event celebrated innovation, teamwork, and the spirit of learning-by-doing.

Bird Profiles No.1: Peregrine Falcon
Latin Name: Falco Peregrinus
Diet: Carnivore
Length: 35-51cm
Weight: 0.5-1.2kg
The Peregrine Falcon lives in high places such as mountains, coasts and urban skyscrapers. It reaches phenomenal speeds of up to 300kmph when diving for prey, and is one of the larger falcons. The female is double the size of the male, and northern and southern birds migrate, while populations near the equator are permanent residents. This falcon has a wide distribution. In terms of hunting, it’s method is quite unique, soaring upwards, scanning the territory, choosing prey and then diving down at incredible speeds, slowing at the last second to catch the victim. Peregrine hunts have a fairly balanced hunt success rate. Prey includes ducks, pigeons, starlings, parrots and waders.

Throughout the filming of the show, Rachel had the opportunity to work closely with @therealadamsavage, an engineer and special effects expert with over 20 years of experience. . When it comes to Adam Savage, he is one of the best individuals that anyone can ask to have as a mentor,” said Rachel. “He has years of practical experience, not only in engineering and fabrication, but in television production and public speaking. He is a wealth of knowledge, and I am fortunate to be able to call him my friend.” . Through starring on the show, Rachel hopes to be seen as a #STEMadvocate for budding #scientists younger than herself. “Many young kids do not have #STEM-related role models due to many factors, but I can be that role model by encouraging their work and offering a bit of advice based on my experience," said Rachel. .
