Puce Mary - The Drought

Definitely definitely one of the best Noise projects around right now is the power electronic project by Frederikke Hoffmeier, Puce Mary. I’m certainly not an expert in power electronics or the noise scene, but to my ear power electronics tends to be a much more pulsating affair. The noise and composition blasting in a rhythmic procession of strange audio samples and extremely well constructed soundscapes, with such a specific attention to detail it captures the feeling of being stuck in a crowded room full of machines and talking people. All of whom are talking about some really dark shit.

If you’ve ever gotten into noise music, this is a great place to start! The rhythmic nature of the album gives you something familiar to latch onto as the album descends further into the insanity that is Puce Mary.
