Your Shot photographer Alex Mironyuk traveled to the remote Cypress Swamp areas of Florida to capture this image. "These swamps are the most unusual ecosystems in southern USA," writes Mironyuk. "There are old trees growing in the middle of the water." "These places are very seldom visited by tourists due to their remoteness, lodging problems, luck with restaurants, and so on." Cypress trees grow in water and are found growing in solution holes. Solution holes are depressions in the limestone bedrock that have been broken down over time as a result of anaerobic decomposition of leaves, branches and flowers. Photograph by Alex Mironyuk
