Anyway, for a sneak preview of that: yes we DO need this autopsy. You know why? Because the problem wasn't people who voted FOR them. They will always have their fans and rallies, they didn't abandon them even when they were actively killing them. I expected people to vote for them. What I didn't expect and will be ashamed of until the day I die, is the people who KNEW they were running and CHOSE not to vote. And we need that explained in every possible way so that when the "your vote doesn't matter" "both sides is the same" psyops start again, we understand that american fascism isn't the fault of bad men acting; it's the result of good men FAILING to act.

To answer the question, they don't usually want to knock you out for minor procedures like fillings, because anesthesia is incredibly risky. And especially when you're working with anything in someone's mouth, it is VERY easy for them to choke if they're unconscious. So for anything less than an -ectomy, it's much safer for you to be awake and theoretically aware.

Regarding the cavities, if it's comforting, it probably WASN'T the mints. It might have been your brushing schedule, or it might've been differentiation in the PH of your mouth, or your spit production going up and down, or even- and this is a technical term here- shit just happens, and it's out of your control. Having cavities is not a reflection of your worth as a person and, despite what some may have you believe, not your fault. Your mother may choose not to believe that, and you know what, it's okay to be wrong. It's fine for her to stand by her objectively incorrect assessment of the situation.

What's LESS fine is the financial abuse. I'm not super familiar with the laws of the country you live in, but I would advise you get good at lying and REALLY good at sneaking. I wish you didn't have to hide from your own mother, or sneak around someone who's supposed to help you because she's decided a perfectly normal ailment is your fault, but you know what? That's her failure, not yours.

This is not your fault. You will get through this and things WILL be all right.

anonymize this please if you can, but i just. when i first got a legal id, it was before i cracked my gender egg, so when the folks at the DMV mistakenly put me down as Not My AGAB, my queerphobic parents and i had them switch it to my AGAB. i have since figured out i'm incredibly transgender, but for my own safety i haven't been able to legally update anything. however, i'm worried that if my state follows in kansas's footsteps, that "telling the DMV they hit the wrong button" incident might count as enough of a gender marker change to invalidate my current id until they force-assign me my actual gender. which, while being accidentally affirming, will make things even more dangerous for me because i do NOT pass as my actual gender yet and won't for the indeterminate future, so if anything happened where i'd need to present my id and i've got the "wrong" gender marker, i'd be screwed.

then again there might be a silver lining in kicking my queerphobic parents in the pants so they finally figure out that there's no such thing as a real-life shirley exception. it'd be funny to watch them bluescreen as they tried to make "our child is being caught up in the legislation targeting people we despise without being in that group of people (to our knowledge)" work in their worldview. gotta prepare for the worst and be ready to take the tiny wins, ig. genuinely, thank you for this blog, while i'm on that subject. having a solid number in my head to count down from has kept me from completely losing it these past several months <3 hope you're doing as okay as you can be

I was fired today because my supervisor said I wasn't being timely and when I showed her all the positive stuff I'd done and that literally her claim wasn't true she still continued to fire me and well lookin for a new job now. My car is fucked and needs fixing, and honestly it's fuckin scary out atm, I need some encouragement, help a lady please?

Honestly? Sounds like she was just looking for an excuse to fire you. Considering how the snake of capitalism is currently eating its own tail, that’s hardly surprising.

But still, I’m really sorry you got fired, bud, that REALLY sucks.

it’s so so hard to stay hopeful now. im finally starting to recover from years-long depression, but every time i hear about this shit happening it threatens to set me back. and i know sticking it out and staying strong is the best thing to do for myself, but tonight i need a break from staying strong. i just want this nightmare to be over.
