Casual winter midi/maxi vibes this weekend. I was feeling tough on Saturday and feminine on Sunday.

I have some great news: yesterday, I went on my first job interview in about two years for a design job; it went decent, and I was told I would hear back about it by the end of the week. However, a few hours later on the train ride home, I got the call and was offered the job (and of course I accepted)! The rest of my day yesterday was spent on a high of actually succeeding and in a dreamlike state wondering if it was actually real.
Fast forward to today, where I'm beat from being up so early (something I'm going to have to get used to, quick) and have 2 weeks to finish all of my projects at my studio. Add in some cold weather, and I'm surprised I didn't wear a sweatshirt today (although this is just about a step above). I know I've been "comfort dressing" a lot lately, but I think this is the apex of comfort.
Some days I honestly wonder what is going through my mind when I get dressed--today is one of those days, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's something bad. I originally bought these pants and cardigan to wear together for a presentation/meeting last winter because I love the combination of a classic print (i.e. houndstooth) mixed with a floral. Today I was feeling ambitious enough to throw in a third print--birds. Somehow, because of the simple color palette, I think it works in a crazy way.
This shirt is more or less the antithesis of what I wear--it's a men's shirt, it's a thermal, and it has a graphic on the front. But when my brother didn't want it, my mom offered it up to me because of my (unhealthy) obsession with all things birds, and I knew immediately that I would wear it with these leggings. It's like a match made in laziness heaven, no?
I've been seeing ads for the new VH1 movie about TLC, entitled CrazySexyCool, and while today's outfit definitely wasn't inspired by TLC themselves, I think the title fits this as much as it fits their movie. Crazy as in crazy bag lady with a million layers on to fight off this morning's chill. Sexy because it's fairly short and has an open back (that probably won't be seeing daylight until it warms up a little). Cool because it all comes together somehow.
How do you transition your wardrobe from summer to fall?
