He hated being in New York, even on the borders here in Hell's Kitchen. Being close to these people, close to the high-risk area ... Rio really didn't want to be here. But he was hungry, he desperately needed more money, he needed to get out of the city, get food, fly away. Seeing a small, shabby looking bar with 'Josie's' on it, Rio threw caution to the wind. Get a cheap drink, ask if there were jobs going, get out of the cold for a bit - he was in tatty jeans and a white tee shirt, not exactly cold weather New York clothes. Slipping into the bar, Rio pulled his few notes out of his pocket, going up to the bar.
"Um, hey." he said, nervously, to the barmaid. "What can I get for ... two bucks?" he gave her the money, smiling nervously as she clonked a drink down in front of him. He wanted to ask if there were jobs going, but this lady was scary as hell looking and Rio clenched his jaw, deciding against it.
