“Father, I’ve made a mistake. Forgive me,” he took the priest’s hands in his own. Would Maxi be disappointed in him? He felt foolish for hoping that he would just let it go and instantly move on. Maxi had committed crimes in the past, but Damien understood that he had done so for the safety of children and the general public at large; he didn’t overreact over something so small as a missionary from another church knocking on the door.
Usually Damien would never had answered the door himself at church; his jobs there were supposed to be kept under wraps, but the demon had been pacing circles and walking through the rows of pews, doing whatever he could to douse out the restless anger that had managed to brew inside of him; it was then that, at no later than seven in the morning, he’d heard a knock on the door. Hindsight was 20/20 and, in any other mindset, he wouldn’t have seen the missionary’s short speech as being an attack on Maxi and his church’s ways. He would have shut the door in their face, not killed them. Explaining all that had happened, Damien was fighting back tears, “I thought I’d feel better after, not like this.”

Father ❤️, can I come by the library and you can tell me all about the deadly sins?
@yourexgoingxtoxhell
If you see anything I said last night, I’m sorry, Father.

(Thaaaaat’s nervous laughter)
Maxi, I was thinking, it would be wonderful if you would give me permission to open a portal between my room in my home in Hell and in my apartment and the church library. It would make traveling so much faster.

(Found this gif of Damien’s FC a while ago and it looks like Maxi standing begind him!)
Father, I have great news for you. There’s going to be a new bible published to the world any day now, a bible dedicated not to Satan, but to me! I wanted to save you a copy.

“So it’s the newest member of the church taking credit for my work, then?” He frowned, reading over the sheet beside the library door; next to ‘reorganized the shelves’, ‘updated the computer’, and ‘ordered the most requested books of the week’ was her name where it should be Damien’s. Oddly enough, the Antichrist cared deeply about the state of the church’s quaint library, but he understood, despite his persistent complaining on the matter, that going unnoticed was for the best.
Looking up at Maxi, he tacked the sheet back up, “You look good. Relaxed.”
