Can you tell me a bug fact?? I love bugs :3 I just don't know a lot XD
Sure!! Bug fact coming right up.
Today is fun fact is about:
The monarch butterfly or Danaus plexippus
These guys go on a massive nation wide migration, A yearly occurrence where thousands of monarch butterflies travel across North America for their breeding season. From all different directions they go to different places. If they breed in the Rocky mountains, they migrate to California's coasts. Those that breed East migrate to Mexico.
It is by far not an uncommon to step out into the chilly fall and see the great monarch butterfly migration.
And I have a new category that will be on some of these fun facts
How you can help the species:
Monarch butterflies only have one place where they lay their eggs... making it quite hard during their migrations to find what they need. If you want to help this species, consider planting milkweed in your garden. That way these butterflies can both eat and lay their eggs.
Come spring the eggs will hatch and you will have little caterpillars and once those caterpillars turn into cocoons... You've helped an entire new generation of monarch butterflies!!
And not just that- planting pollinator flowers can help many different bugs!
So both for the monarch butterfly and many other critters consider planting a garden where you don't mind the leaves getting eaten ;p
