Have you ever met someone and they open up a new world of opportunity? Please give me a moment to share a short story of an amazing man doing amazing things in the western hemisphere. Russ Whitney’s real estate education group expanded my outlook of real estate investing and inspired me to do more. Starting in 2002, while in Portland, Oregon, I had an amazing opportunity to be apart of a national real estate education group for the first time. The man who started this group was none other than Cape Coral, Florida’s Russ Whitney. You see, Russ overcame a difficult family environment while growing up. But, he did not let that stop him from dreaming big and walking into his vision. Over the next two years, I was able to go to many of Russ’ educational weekends in Las Vegas, Atlanta, Orlando, and Cape Coral. These courses include: Foreclosure boot camp, Commercial real estate, asset protection,etc... During this time, I was able to meet Russ Whitney, Kevin Haags (Russ’ good friend and realtor), the Young brothers, Shawn Casey, and many others that were doing amazing things in the real estate investment community. It seemed that every time I went to see Russ in his office, he was always working on a new book or a land development project in Costa Rica. Even though he was busy with projects, he always made time to talk and say hi. You could feel his genuine desire to help others. It was rumored that he had a networth of 250 million+ at the time. Yet, he was humble, kind, and possessed an incredible education. Russ’ knowledge and wisdom inspired me to dream bigger and do more. Because of his knowledge made a huge difference in my real estate career, I continued to study other’s education on subjects like real estate, macroeconomics, and geopolitics. It placed a fire in me to learn and to grow. And with this increasing knowledge, to share with others what I had learned. I also discovered, the great enjoyment and fulfillment in helping others on their journey. The Russ Whitney Group’s ideas and strategies on real estate investments made a huge impact on my career.
