fell down the rabbit hole
Alice sat on the edge of the T Party stage, swinging her feet. She was dressed in normal clothes, beyond her new stage shoes. Her other pair had worn down from wearing them so often, that Disney bought her a new pair. Alice knew she would have to break them in, so she came to the stage, hoping to rehearse some of the Christmas songs and see if the heels would work out for her.
Knowing she couldn’t be too loud or the Disneygoers would come to see what she was doing was the first problem. Easily she had solved it by humming the songs instead of singing them full out. Alice’s second problem was the one that was much more difficult to get through. Her feet were killing her. After several boring breaks, Alice decided it was useless to continue trying to break the shoes in.
Soon after sitting down, the blonde began to keep a rhythm with the swinging of her feet and sang, completely forgetting that she had to be relatively quiet.
Highway run, into the midnight sun. Wheels go ‘round and ‘round, you’re on my mind. Restless hearts, sleep alone tonight. Sendin’ all my love, along the wire. They say that road ain’t no place to start a family. Right down the line it’s been you and me. And lovin’ a music man ain’t always what it’s s’posed to be. Oh girl, you stand by me. I’m forever yours, faithfully.
So caught up in her song, she hadn’t noticed that someone had come into the audience area, but as she opened her eyes after her last word, she gasped, slid down to the floor, and blushed. “Forgive me.”
