Today I've been seeing people blaming protesters for the damage that's been done so far by people who are either uninformed, or just choose to ignore what's actually going on. In most cities the protests have stayed peaceful, and police have even joined the protests. Then there are the cities getting all the attention because police are arresting news reporters, shooting rubber bullets and pepper spray at reporters, destroying cartons of milk in cases of water that people are setting up to protect themselves in case of tear gas and pepper spray, I'm just making the problem worse. There's been plenty of evidence showing but it's been outsiders smashing the windows of these buildings, and looting before anyone else does. Yeah everyone's pointing the fingers at the protesters we're more than likely lying on the ground in pain from being pepper sprayed by police, not even knowing what else is going on out there. Everyone I've seen condemning protesters for rioting and looting, without even knowing if that's who's really doing it, are just showing off their privileged right now. They don't have to worry about what's going on in these cities because they're safe at home right now, and they've probably never been to the areas where everything is happening. The small businesses that people are going after, we don't know anything about them, or who owns them. At the same time when there's already a video that's been circulating of a white guy destroying property while black people are trying to stop him, guess who's being blamed for it. Then you have the people who are whitewashing history, saying Martin Luther King didn't riot. They keep sharing the picture of the march, but leaving out the following photos of them being attacked by dogs and sprayed with fire hoses.
