Amiibo price drops

Nintendo has reduced sales prices of popular Amiibo figurines Donkey Kong, Peach and Yoshi in the first waves of characters to be price dropped.

In a move to fight over supply Nintendo have dropped prices from $12.99 to $9.99. The change has not yet been officially announced but is listed on Nintendo's website.

Among 5.7 million units sold of Amiibo products the first discounted figures are within the Top 10 highest selling in the United States and Canada. It is likely the price drop was made to maximize sales of rare and less wide spread Amiibo as it comes at the heels of a new wave of Amiibo to be released in March. 

Nintendo director Satoru Iwata has recently spoken about rare Amiibo and supply and demand choices made by the company, stating "It is difficult for us to promise to continuously ship all of the Amiibo figures."
