Youtube Playback Quality Issues Fix
So I (and others, apparently) have been plagued by problems with Youtube refusing to offer quality options on their videos besides 360p (720p if you're lucky) when watching on Firefox, no matter how fast my internet is.
Today, however, I finally got to the bottom of it so I thought I'd share here in case anyone else has been struggling with the same problem.
To get back your youtube video playback quality options: 1. Open Firefox and go to the search bar (where you type in site addresses) 2. Type in about:config then press enter. 3. When it pops up the 'Proceed with Caution' page, click 'accept the risk and continue' 4. In the bar at the top, type media.mediasource.enabled and press enter. 5. The following will display, click the arrows on the right so 'false' reads as 'true'
6. Close out of the tab and open youtube. Videos should now have their full range of quality options selectable! (assuming the video had them in the first place, obviously)
Happy watching!
