That Awkward Moment When ...
Hello my loves, Today i am coming at you with a bit of a different post. You see i have just had three days off - i have been working my butt of blogging, creating content, going out to shoot content. Met with a few new photographers - just to have some back up, although i am so happy with whom i've been working with. But today i wanted to talk to you a bit about the real and unfortunate side of being a content creator. I think sometimes, it is SUPER easy to see someone posting #AD's online, and for you to think that they are absolutely rolling in it. Or you see that someone is on holiday, and they are really out there working and shooting content. I have seen some of my favourite creators talk about this type of thing on their feeds, Frassy Audrey being one of them . But unfortuantely, the time has come - where i have worked with a brand - and payment seems to be no where in sight. Due to wanting to keep some proffessional composure, i won't be saying who the brand is, and how long ago i have worked with them. But just know it has been long past the timeline anyone would happily wait for payment. Although there is still no sign of payment - life has to go on, bills still have to be paid, i still have to eat. This is one of the reasons that for the foreseeable future, i will be keeping my full time job. But i do think that this is one of those moments to share with your audience - that things aren't aways as glamourus as they may seem. Being competley real with you - my MacBook that i am writing this post on - is about to shit the bed - and the keys " dfghjkl " all choose to work when they feel like it. So you can either find me literally banging the shit out of my keyboard - or copying and pasting those letters into my posts. These are the things that are not taken into consideration when you are seeing your favourite content creators posting advertorial content. Can you imagine on top of it having to chase down payment ? Thankfully - i have met a few other amazing ladies in this community, who are going through the same thing, or have gone through the same thing. Ladies that can remind you of your worth, and what is and isn't okay. In an industry that is SO new, there is no set manual or guidelines just as of yet. That finding a supportive community to help you navigate your business ( and feelings, is SO useful ). On that note, i am going to just say... watch this space - as i have a few things coming up that you may be interested in.... Especially if you have found yourself reading the entirety of this post.
