1. What is your favorite sentence you’ve ever written? Why?
My favorite sentence is from Watch the Flames Burn Auburn on the Mountainside:
“In twin flashes of lightning, one trailing bloody red and the other one chased by snaps of yellow, they began to fight faster than the eye could follow.”
I just really like the visuals of it? It’s kinda purple-prose-y, but still.
2. Are there words, phrases, or images that you return to in your writing?
Torture and recovery as themes, and there’s one phrase that I also love.
“When it all goes to hell, the people who stand by you without flinching-that’s your family.” -Jim Butcher.
3. There’s that saying about how good writers just up and steal stuff. Have you ever read anything so good that you just had to have it and out it in what you were writing? What was it? What would you want someone to steal from you?
oh my god I love cute fluffy headcanons that I can turn into horrible angst? I see ‘em, I steal ‘em.
Something I want people to steal from me... Dragons. Just put dragons in all of your writing asdfghjkhjhj just do it kids.
7. Multi-chapter fic or one shot? When writing multi-chapter (if you do), do you plan everything ahead and then write, or do you just write as you go along?
A lot of my long multi chapter fics start out as one-shots. usually I make it up as I go along, but I’ll have the big events planned out. Anything in between is fair game.
8. What motivates you to continue a fic you’ve already started and shared?
Reviews! Please review me ;-;
10. Is there anything in your writing you’d like to change or improve?
God, I just want to be popular. I want people to like me. Idk how to change my writing so they do though.
12. Is the fic you like to read the same as the fic you like to write?
Absolutely. I’m a sucker for magical realism/dragon fics, h/c, angst, and torture. Yummy.
13. How many fandoms do you write for? Are they all for one medium (television, books, film, etc.) or more than one? If more than one, is there a different feeling to writing for one as opposed to another?
More for television, although I’ve written some PJO stuff (no, those garbage movies don’t count) and some HP stuff. And I write for a lot of fandoms. A lot.
16. Is there something that you want to write that you haven’t yet? What’s stopping you?
I wanna write dragons. What’s stopping me? ALL MY OTHER WiPS.
17. What’s the one no-good trope that’s #problematic that you just can’t break up with?
I don’t think I have one? But if anybody wrote a fic like @cinnamonhawkes‘s one about the LoT team dealing with the aftermath of a sex pollen incident (with no actual sex in the fic) I would be all over that.
