she tells me that to let go of all desire is to attain nirvana i say it is to stop living

she says yes, stop living in this world in order to rise to the better one

i say to let go of desires is to desire nirvana she tells me it is only by letting go of the desire to achieve nirvana and all else that nirvana is arrived at

i say it is a paradox

she says i desire complexity and i desire not-nirvana, hellfire

Parents

do not know best.

I repeat — parents do not know best.

They may know better, but they cannot possibly know best If you think about it it is their first time raising you.  They may have learned from raising your siblings before you but they don't know how it should be with you. Don't let them fool you.

If you want to do something, follow your heart and not your parents' words — especially not raised voices. Parents, you do not have the right to unnecessarily, unreasonably be mad at your children. Not ever.

Children, walk away.  Don't sink into their quicksand criticisms. You may be half of your mother and half of your father, but you are one whole of you. It means you deserve to be treated as an individual absolved of any obligations to sacrifice self-esteem at the altar of filial piety.

Respect and love for parents should feel a blessing, not chaffing chains.

you think too much you feel too little muted emotions are crushed rose petals between pages you think you have too many feelings you turn down the volume in your chest trying to stay breathing you avoid the darkness no acknowledgement of the deepest timbres of — feelings i want to say feelings but that's too convenient a summing up it runs further down that

still waters run deep the deep waters running in my veins are still i cannot get to them

someone tell me how i can remove this glass screen it fogs up i cannot see clearly the riot of the secret things dancing in the empty grounds of my ribcage i know they are there
