Yria | Born to the Sea
Meet Yria, one of the side characters from Born to the Sea. I wanted to paint her for so long. So here is a quick portrait of her.

The Ancient Sanctuary of Dionysus at Yria is located in the middle of the lush Livadi valley at the southern part of Naxos.
There are various monumental buildings on site, as well as a temple constructed around 580 BC, which has been restored.
Have you ever visited the Ancient Sanctuary Dionysus at Yria?

Temple of Dionysus (Temple IV)
Yria, Naxos, Greece
580-570 BCE
28,5m x 13,5 m
Ionic order (One of the earliest uses)
Around 580-570 BCE, work began on the fourth and largest temple of Yria, the only one of which remains are visible, and the only one to have been restored. It is an archaic hekatompedon (30 m. long) temple of the Ionic style. It is built of local granο-diorite rock, and it has an Adyton (innermost sanctuary for a mystery cult), marble portico (prostasis) with columns forming a monumental entrance, and a marble altar. Τwο tetrastyle marble colonnades divide the building into three aisles.
The temple is divided into three naves by two rows of four columns of Ionic order, each of which consists of two or three marble drums. The Adyton is separated from the cella by a second monumental gate. The hearth, found inside the temple, was of marble and was used for libations.
KEEP YOUR DRAGON ON A LEASH!
That's what the sign is saying there. Whenever Myre enters a new town, she lets Varug off her reigns. It's a normal habit that both Myre and Varug acquired over the years of traveling together, and one which Varug gets a chance to roam around the plains freely on her own for a while. Unfortunately for this town, she proves that mounts, especially dragons, should be guided on a leash or reigns. Does Myre give a damn? Of course not. xD
I really missed drawing Myre and Varug while preparing for the next spinoff comic, "Haunter of Dreams", which plays in the same universe Yria. Thank you all so much for supporting my work! I'm so happy that those who got the first volume enjoy it so much, and that some have even read it twice already! <3
You can finally buy my recently published first volume of my graphic novel series, "Myre - Chronicles of Yria" at: www.yriachronicles.com , and learn more about Myre and Varug. I ship worldwide and every week. :> Thank you for looking!
