This is the final volume in the series and it wraps things up pretty well. All the sub-plots get some pay-off too, but I still think that several of them didn’t need to exist. I liked that Scarlet’s quest for revenge was far from simple as there were so many people involved with her death and I liked the relationship between Connie and Scarlet but I feel pretty meh about the series overall. I think it had a lot of potential but it just had too many characters and sub-plots to keep me invested in the series. Also, I hated Randolph. He was devoid of charm until the very end and I never got over the ten year age gap between him and Connie and I was never able to root for their romance. I think I would have liked this story a lot more had there been less sub-plots and if Randolph wasn’t in it. He’s just such a bland character.
Also, if you are planning to read this series, I recommend reading all of them at around the same time so that you can remember all of the characters and the plots because there’s a steep learning curve here that I never really got past.
That’s it for the series and I doubt I’ll be reading anything more from the author in the future. I didn’t hate the series but I never really got into it. I will be contuing to read the manga while it’s being published on Gangan Online so I might like it more there.

Gotta be honest: my memory of the first volume is pretty weak, leading to this volume being quite confusing. For some reason, the character introductions at the start of the book only include a few side characters and I think the only purpose of them is to show off new character designs and the other character information pages only happen at the end of the chapters, rather than before, to detail new information and character motivations. It’s really annoying and this book badly needed a story and character introduction page at the start of it that details all of the characters and their relationships. Often, a character will be mentioned in conversation and I’ll be like “who’s that again? Have they been mentioned before?” It’s a big cast and not many characters are memorable so it gets really confusing.
This volume basically just has the characters discover more answers to the mysteries and there are so many sub-plots and side characters whose purpose in the overarching plot is very unclear and confusing and there are a lot of pointless exposition scenes about characters that I just can’t bring myself to care about. Also, Connie and Randolph grow closer and they’re both such dull characters with zero chemistry that I suffer through every scene that tries to push them as a romantic couple. Scarlet is pretty much the only part about this volume that I liked. There was one flashback chapter from Lily’s POV and it was easily the best part of the volume where we learn more about Scarlet’s dynamics with Lily and Enrique.
The only reason I didn’t rate this a 1 star is because of Scarlet and because I’m still somewhat invested in the mystery.
I already own volume 3, which is the last one in the series, so I’ll be reading it soon.
