Cooking/Baking - Yuca Bread
Hey~ So this week I made Yuca Bread! Basically it's a cheesy bread thing made with yuca flour (once again my describing is A++ LOLOL) and it's from Latin America ^0^ It's not sweet like my other cooking posts, but ITS STILL DELICIOUS!!! (and it’s still really easy to make as well huhu)
Anyways, I used this recipe for a model, but I didn't copy it exactly. I'll just post my version of the recipe below (with my beaut commenting ofc ^0^) and you can compare both ahaha.
We actually make this bread pretty commonly at my house, since we usually have a bunch of random cheese lying around that no one really wants to eat. And this recipe is really good because otherwise, we'd just let the cheese rot and no one would eat it ^0^ SAVING THE WORLD ONE PACK OF CHEESE AT A TIME.
On a more serious note, here's the recipe modified by me (and my mom ahaha)
Yuca Bread
2 1/2 cups yuca starch/flour
4 cups of cheese (any kind; in my household we just use whatever we have atm)
1 tsp baking powder
2 eggs
Salt - to taste
A few tablespoons of milk (if the dough is too dry)
1. Like a good child, preheat the oven to 450 degrees fahrenheit.
2. In a food processor, put the cheese and the eggs until well combined.
3. Add the cheese/egg mixture into a bowl with the yuca flour/starch
4. Mix until a dough (that’s easy to handle) begins to form. If it's too dry add milk, and if it's too sticky (that usually never happens, but oki then...) add more yuca flour.
5. Form the dough into small golf sized balls. Place them on a tray lined with parchment paper.
6. Put them into the oven until golden brown. This should take about 13 minutes give or take.
7. Once you take them out, let them set until cooled.
Enjoy! ^0^
I usually mainly use monterey jack cheese and feta cheese for reference ^0^ You can still experiment with cheeses though, I mean, it'll be pretty hard to mess up the recipe too badly ahaha.
Well anyways; what're you waiting for? Stop reading and go bAKE! - ayu
