broke his own rules of time travel again and again just to save cheng xiaoshi. is possibly breaking the universe by doing this. but he doesn't care because he just needs cheng xiaoshi to be alive. nothing else matters anymore

Yuda/Yunyun:

Yuda's going through all this trouble, traveling through time and space and occupying different bodies in order to save his most important person idk what else to say. I wrote three paragraphs about them you can use any of that for propaganda. This is quite literally life or death for them and we don't even know WHY he's doing it. He was literally born into a rich family and would have been set for life without having to lift a finger and he's putting all of that and then some on the line for this guy he worked with whose existence is a crime.

Imagine, if you will, doomed time travel yaoi but instead of traveling back to save your loved one from an inescapable fate, the time travel dooms them in another way. You can't go back to save them, you're time traveling *to* save them from something else chasing you, or you time travel and can't go back to the life you knew and your loved one dies and comes back into your life completely wrong over half a century later. 18Trip takes doomed time travel yaoi and turns it on its head. Yuda, also known as Yunyun, is a bartender for the Ten Nights' Dreams Bar which is run by Yodaka Natsume (If you're wondering if Yodaka is a reference to Natsume Souseki, you would be right on the money. He's a whole host of references to the author but that's neither here nor there). Yuda is possessive of Yodaka, trying to prevent Yodaka from joining Hama Tours' Night Group through a variety of methods. He drugs Yodaka to prevent him from thinking about the past or the future, keeping his mind solely on the present, he puts Yodaka to sleep in order to prevent him from performing at the Night Group's debut tour live, he even tries to sabotage that live by cutting the power just in case Yodaka shows up, but why is he so against the idea of Yodaka branching out of the bar?

I’m cleaning the bar when you come down the stairs. You weren’t feeling good and I told you to rest, it’s a Monday night and I can handle it. You nodded with a hand to your forehead. Don’t forget your medicine, Yodaka-san, I said as you went up to your room. You said you would and I opened the bar like usual. We had our usuals, Daniel, his friends, and some of the local workers, but it’s a Monday in the middle of September, there isn’t much to do for the tourists so we were pretty quiet. Daniel asked where you were and I told him you were resting from a headache. But now you’re here, back in the bar. Are you feeling better, I ask. Yes, I think I just needed to get away from the light for a little while. I hum and keep wiping down glasses and putting them back in their spots. How was it tonight, you start to make small talk again. Slow, y’know how it is, business hasn’t exactly been booming recently. You nod. I steal a glance at you, your mole on your chin, your unkempt hair, everything about you is perfect. You sit at the bar and I put the last glass away before leaning down on the counter. So, what’ll it be today, Master, I stress the last word, a little joke between us. You smile, my heart flutters. The usual, on the rocks. I grab a whiskey glass, fill it with ice, and pour your drink before sliding it over to you and making myself a matching one. Cheers, I say raising my glass to you. You do the same and we drink. I try not to drink too much, I worry it might make me loose lipped, but around you I allow myself just the one. We’ll be back asleep in no time anyway. I dim the lights, letting your eyes rest a little bit more. It’s almost dark in the bar and dawn is about to break. The chairs still have to be put up and the floor swept but I almost want that to wait until later. I want to savor the moment, alcohol starting to buzz through our veins. I want to lean in and capture your lips with my own as the sun breaks over the horizon, but I don’t. I still need to make your medication, and you have to take inventory for our next order. We stay at the counter, chatting for far too long, the ice half melted in our glasses that I haven’t cleaned up. You’ve been reading more lately, books on bartending but also on dreams and sleep and death. I promise to borrow your books when I have time so we can discuss them. Eventually we have to go though, the sun filters through the windows and you lose your focus. I reach out for your hand as you start to fade. Go back upstairs, Yodaka-san, I’ll take care of everything.
