AND THAT, WAS A VERY BLACK AND WHITE WAY OF LOOKING AT THINGS. sure, the world was bad - filled with evil. but there was also a lot of good, a lot of people just trying their b e s t to deal with the hand they’ve been dealt. there was actually a look of pity towards the man, eyebrows creasing. protest on the tongue before brain was able to keep up with   ❛ ━━ THE WORLD ISN’T BAD. an eye for an eye does no justice, it only leaves a mark on two people. nobody deserves that ❜ no matter what happened, beth still remained faithful that the world was a beautiful place, filled with wonder and things to uncover. it wasn’t bad. it was just.... desperate people get desperate.

Elizabeth groaned as she considered the battered home in front of her. It’s getting late, and this seemed like the sole place that would have to do for the night. Liz moved for her shotgun that was on her back; never would be safe. Infected could be anywhere and Elizabeth would not stand by for them to strike first.

The woman made her approach to the door, opening it, and poked her head inside, gazing at the dark room. Eyes squint as they focus on a short candle, wax building at the bottom., she closed the door and walked over, pulling a lighter out from her pocket and lighting the candle so that there was a light in the area. “There...” Elizabeth murmured with a small smile. As she turned around; she saw a shadow move in the parts of the room that wasn’t lit., she drew her weapon up; ready to shoot at any moment----no, Liz, be smart..., the brunette started her way to where the shadow was, her finger hovering over the trigger. As she came around the corner; that’s when she lowered her weapon slightly. It was a kid; a girl. Now Elizabeth knew she couldn’t trust anyone let alone children but... she couldn't shoot her.

“Where’s your group?” She couldn’t be alone, there had to be others.

Seb sighed, running a hand through his hair. It still smelled of smoke to him, no matter how often he washed it, no matter how much shampoo he used. Even if he knew, realistically, that it couldn’t still smell like it. Not after so long and so many nights where he had spent hours under the shower until the stream turned from hot to freezing.

But the memory lingered, and with it, the smell.

He was setting a trap, nothing more than something simple to try to catch a rabbit or anything that could be a meal. Every once in a while, Angelo would look up and listen for possible Infected or even bad people coming around. How he wished he had more arrows and knifes.
