yuki-no-hate asked: “My beta fish died. Console me.”
how the fuck do you --- karin sighs / stands and moves to her fridge. “ i’ve got vodka ? would that console you ? ”
@yuki-no-hate ♡ ‘d for a lyric-inspired starter ! ( conquest of spaces , woodkid )
❛ I have always viewed love as that which dies silently, ❜ haku trails off, dragging their finger tips over the lake’s surface, frost fissuring across the surface in delicate spiral patterns. haku builds them up, then sinks them, one by one, a god carefully designing chaos. ❛ That is the beauty of love, maybe. Or maybe it is the tragedy in me. ❜

❝ i don’t have to ‘ think it through ’. ❞ Pre-planning is for losers that’re scared of a little risk.
@yuki-no-hate sᴀɪᴅ: "I didn’t mean the things I said." for Yagura :3c // miscellaneous angst starters
❝You did,❞ he says easily, expression unchanging and thoughtful. Of course she did. There isn’t one person in Kirigakure who doesn’t have harsh words for the former Mizukage, regardless of if they knew the truth or not. Asanoha was no exception.
❝You meant it at the time... Perhaps you don’t mean it now, but I don’t blame you for feeling that way.❞ Yagura turns to her then with a soft smile tugged slightly more to the right. ❝You have every right to be angry at me, Asanoha, but I’m glad that I can call you my friend now.❞
"Hey, Shizuma... Are you dating? I know this is probably not something you want to talk about with me of all people, but you can be honest! I was walking around and I happened to see you with a blonde girl. She's pretty~ What is her name?" (embarrasses him more :3c)
he follows her line of sight to a familiar electric blonde coif winding through the crowd toward them. shizuma’s eyes linger on the tight cling of buntan’s backless blood red dress, glacial eyes flash-freezing the image of her like this — head tossed back, throat provocatively exposed, dripping in a dress and jewelry he bought her, makeup he applied, heels he taught her how to walk in — because she’s beautiful, so fucking beautiful, and no matter how the crowd schools and swarms around her like googly-eyed guppies, she’s still the biggest fucking shark in this entire party, and she’s all his.
“Nosy, Auntie. Don’t tell me you’re spying on me too. One relative is enough, thanks.” he chides, knocking back another swig of wine, before he grins sharply — and a touch testily — at asanoha over the red-streaked rim.
hidden beneath his turtleneck, his vestigial fins twitch. inwardly he’s annoyed, maybe even a touch embarrassed that his territorial instincts are triggered by even the barest whiff of buntan, but outwardly shizuma’s smirk is as slick as an eel. “Buntan is my best friend.” my lover. my lieutenant. my rival. my anchor. my rock. “She’s such a bitch. She knows me better than anyone. She’s —” as he pushes off the counter he’d been leaning on to circle her slowly, lazily, rolling a mouthful of red over his palate. asanoha shifts in the corner of his eye, and for a split second the urge to sink his teeth into her pale swan’s neck paints the world red. it’s a side effect of the wine, of being in a crowd, of the electric buzz of eyes snagging on him, of being within sixty feet of the one person in the entire world who can bring him to his knees. “Words don’t do her justice, frankly. Excuse me for a moment, auntie.”
he doesn’t wait for an answer. buntan is nearly to them at that point, and shizuma simply tugs the young woman into his arms for a stinging kiss and a dark murmur against her ear. a large hand draped possessively yet gracefully across her bare low back guides buntan through the flock of nobodies eddying in her wake and back to asanoha’s seat in a hidden niche on the terrace.
“I don’t think you’ve had the chance to meet my aunt yet. Buntan, this is my auntie Asanoha. Auntie Asanoha, meet Buntan — my soul mate.”
( mentioned: @bredfaith )
asanoha: :) karin’s hair moving for banana’s to pop her head out of : asanoha: i should have expected this and yet. yet i didn’t. why didn’t i ?

💬 || Send a ‘💬’ to catch a glimpse of a memory my muse has. || Neji & Hinata
Lilac eyes slowly opened, vision blurry at first though soon coming to focus on the ceiling above him, the expression on Neji’s face in a daze. A few moments had passed before he took into account the throbbing pain emanating throughout his head, the ringing in his ears, and the nausea that had settled into his stomach. Nausea... Quickly, Neji sat up and then darted to the bathroom.
Once he had washed his mouth out, he tiredly dragged himself back to his room, moving to lay back down in his bed as the events from earlier all came back to him. Expressing his disinterest in helping Lady Hinata train...then resuming training with her only to become much more rough with her...to Lord Hiashi deciding he was threatening his precious heir’s life and punishing him for it. Neji closed his eyes, shifting to his side and digging his head further into his pillow as he pulled his blanket up further, almost covering his mouth now.
The pain he felt now was nothing compared to what he felt when Lord Hiashi had activated his seal. Admittedly, Neji thought he was going to die there and then. A ghost of that pain from earlier lingered in his head, his seal on his forehead burning especially. Neji’s eyes squeezed shut as tears began to silently fall down his face. The pain, the humiliation, Neji hated it. Damn Lord Hiashi. Damn Lord Hyuga. And damn that meek little brat, Lady Hinata especially. Damn them all to hell!
His train of thought was interrupted when he heard a knock at his door. Neji sat up, a hand moving to wipe his tears as he gently called. “Come in.”
