in the episode where they light off fireworks at the beach house, that scene where yuki reverse psychologies kyo into sitting with them on the stairs is *chefs kiss*

he’s like ‘fine don’t sit here you stupid cat we don’t want you here anyways’ which he knows will make kyo mad and want to sit there just to spite him. yuki knew that tohru wanted kyo to sit with them so he manipulates kyo into doing it and i’m here for it lol

it’s crazy to me that a big part of kyo’s jealousy and anger towards yuki is his inclusion in the zodiac and that as the rat he is supposedly at the top of the zodiac so to speak but kyo was actually more included than yuki was. kyo actually got to grow up and make friends with the other zodiac kids while yuki was isolated, sent to a different school, and couldn’t partake in martial arts like the other kids.

yuki’s jealousy of kyo is genuine, kyo has an easy time being himself around others and others are attracted to him, whereas kyo’s jealousy is based on misinformation. he believes that yuki has two parents who love him and that he was treated specially by akito when those things couldn’t be farther from the truth. he believes that yuki is praised by others and needed by them when yuki feels the complete opposite. kyo feels like yuki has no idea what that isolation feels like but yuki probably understands better than anyone, even if their isolations were different. its so sad that they could have been such good friends who help each other heal but were made to hate each other.
