Anna and Elsa are once again participating in the Yule Bell ringing ceremony. Along with them are their respective spouse (Honeymaren and Kristoff) and their kids Anders, Eira, Freya, and Sám.

ANNA AND ELSA'S BUSIEST TIME OF YEAR

❄️HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE🎄

Noticing the amount of Frozen content just about winter holidays, I wanted to schematize what exactly our favorite sisters have to go through each year at this period:

Polar nights (end of fall-beginning of winter)

We were introduced to the traditional Polar Nights festival in the 2022 novel Polar Nights: Cast into Darkness. We learn that it lasts a whole week and ends on Winter Solstice, with Elsa's birthday:

2. Winter solstice : last Polar Night, Elsa’s birthday and Ice games (December 21st)

Just when the Polar Nights end, Arendelle gets to celebrate their formal queen's birthday!

Ice harvesters also throw the Ice Games, in which Frohana got to participate 2 years after F1 according to the junior book "the Ice Games" and "A Year with Anna and Elsa":

3. Preparing the holidays (december 22nd-24th)

In OFA and the "Winter festival"Ice calamity" short, the decorations and food are already set. We see how it goes in short stories like « The Christmas party »/« The holiday party »:

4. Beginning of the holidays - Ringing the Yule Bell (December 24th)

Then, finally, the royal family rings the Yule Bell to mark the beginnings of the holidays, as first seen in OFA:

Since it's also mentionned in "Dangerous Secrets", seen in an OFA flashback and seen in "Anna and Elsa’s enchanting holiday" set the winter after F2(so just after « Polar Nights ») we can assume it's a solid Arendellian tradition that won't disappear anytime soon:

We also learn in the junior novelization of OFA that the Yule bell was put in storage ever since their parents died:

So either Iduna and Agnarr kept ringing the bell even with the gates closed, or they kept it at hand hoping Elsa would soon control her powers and the gates would reopen soon (which is coherent with what we know of the parents from other media).

5. Winter festival (sometime after Christmas?)

In the recent "Ice calamity" short, we got to see Anna and Elsa's "first winter festival" which I guess is a new tradition they threw after opening the gates. We learn that Elsa was already starting to have visions about the Nokk only five months after F1!

6. Winter ball (sometime after Christmas)

Not sure this is a yearly tradition, but the sisters did throw a "winter ball" for the citizens of Arendelle in "Elsa's gift":

7. Winter end festival - Iduna’s birthday (end of march)

Finally, the end of winter comes with Iduna's birthday. According to the junior book "The Winter End festival", Anna and Elsa throw another festival (what a year!) to honor their mother's memory.

BONUS : Olaf’s Night Before Christmas

This short story centers around Olaf meeting Santa Claus on Christmas night and mistaking him for Kristoff. I don’t know if we can consider it canon as Olaf doesn’t seem to remember what he learnt the day before about suspending socks and Santa Claus, and we know water has memory! Well, technically, he doesn't ask why people hang socks in OFA, so it's not such a stretch he would think they're drying the laudry. As for Santa, he just didn't connect the dots between what children told him in OFA and the person who he mistook for Kristoff.

But since he’s the first-person narrator we could imagine he’s telling his story to kids and is trying to build some suspense! After all F2 showed us Olaf is an unreliable narrator😂
