Okay sooo the cheese wrap was a big win with H! I had been sending them in hopes of transitioning to turkey or ham in there but stopped when they were suddenly rejected so many times. But this week, he crushed this box, even the applesauce chocolate chip muffins he’s turned down at home 🙃. Didn’t eat the pomegranate seeds but said he sucked the juice out of one, so I’ll call that success. . M didn’t eat quite so much but I was volunteering in her classroom during lunch so she was distracted. . Speaking of…I love that we are getting to volunteer in the school! That was pretty much shutdown with Covid so it has been a great treat. I had so much fun in M’s class and get to cover Hs class later this week…plus I get to help at the book fair next week…it is a bit tricky figuring out the baby and the 2yo, but worth it to spend that time up there. I’ve loved getting to know their classmates and teachers, and I’ve had so much fun meeting some other moms. Mondays lunches and snacks were a mix of leftovers from the weekend. . Chips, grapes, and vitamins for morning snack. . For lunch, M had bagel with cream cheese, bacon, strawberries, pretzels, mozzarella cheese balls (a new favorite) and a bite of kiwi that totally appalled her. . We got some yummy rolls the other day, so H got two with different cheeses on them, pita crackers, craisins, raspberries, and a banana muffin w/chocolate sprinkles. (I’ve found they don’t like how parts of the muffins turn brown like any banana would…he is willing to look past that w some sprinkles!) . M ordered spaghetti for lunch but I sent her with a side of rolls and a little cup of her favorite blend of 3 cheeses (mozzarella, crumbled goat, and lots of parmesan). She didn’t really like the pasta (told me it had potatoes in it…??) but at least I know she had some of it (it was all over her shirt) and the bread. . We’ve got a sick crew around here — H is fighting a double ear infection and actually feels a lot better but the antibiotics are rough on his belly. And M just continues to have the yucky crud. Boxes for today are pretty snacky...H may be eating his on way home from the dentist and M will be at my aunt’s house. Both kids have some leftover GF noodles, a GFB & a Hershey kiss, strawberries, & nutterpuffs (we love these!) Packed our yumboxes for a trip to Gigi’s house tonight. She’ll have food for them I’m sure but we brought some staples in case... Pb&j (ener-g bread), strawberries, kiwi, popcorn, and @crunchmastercrackers H also has a babybel and M has some deli ham. We were so excited at lunch today — we haven’t had Thai food in the longest time. We ordered sticky rice and steamed noodles for our picky eaters...then on a whim ordered some crab rangoons and spring rolls. And they loved them!! We were so excited!! Lunches for today! They look simple but have a few new tries in there: Cheese (@daiyafoods forM), corn, blueberries, cut up cornichons (they always reject these but I’ve always given whole) I’m giving them apple slices for the first time (usually cut much smaller) so we will see how/it they like that Ener-g bread w/pb&j (the j is new for us) Plus some pretzels get can dip into hummus (will they dip...?...) I’ve been feeling really good about their lunches lately but we are still struggling for dinners — ideally they’d eat some form of what we have but that’s not happening yet.
