Last week of school lunches for the year! Mac n cheese for M and buttered noodles for H in their @yumboxlunch zuppas. Plus some sides in their snack boxes. It was too much food…but the cantaloupe and cucumber were on their last day anyways so I don’t feel quite so bad 😉 . Also, they love these tiny animal forks. They think they’re so fun! A bit of a variety for us the other day with lunches. M gave mixed reviews…wouldn’t try her cheese wrap but is suddenly back to loving pepperonis and ate all her hummus (apparently with a spoon, not with the pretzels?). H ate everything except the kiwi. He had one sour kiwi and doesn’t trust me that I’m taste testing before I send to ensure they’re sweet. (I really am though. I give K any that seem more sour bc she doesn’t mind!) . Biggest win was H eating the carrot sticks. Okay sooo the cheese wrap was a big win with H! I had been sending them in hopes of transitioning to turkey or ham in there but stopped when they were suddenly rejected so many times. But this week, he crushed this box, even the applesauce chocolate chip muffins he’s turned down at home 🙃. Didn’t eat the pomegranate seeds but said he sucked the juice out of one, so I’ll call that success. . M didn’t eat quite so much but I was volunteering in her classroom during lunch so she was distracted. . Speaking of…I love that we are getting to volunteer in the school! That was pretty much shutdown with Covid so it has been a great treat. I had so much fun in M’s class and get to cover Hs class later this week…plus I get to help at the book fair next week…it is a bit tricky figuring out the baby and the 2yo, but worth it to spend that time up there. I’ve loved getting to know their classmates and teachers, and I’ve had so much fun meeting some other moms. Mini bagels (wrapped in foil to stay crispy) for lunch today with cheez its, berries, cucumber for H, and vitamins plus some colorful marshmallows. I added the whites of a hard-boiled egg bc M willingly tried and ate one last week without any pressure (or bribing!) … I’m hoping H will try his too bc he used to love them!
