The dim sums kept on coming at Imperial Palace, Panmure. Makcik Yoke Har gathered Aunty Janet and Tuan Tony together to welcome back Uncle Charles from his Malaysia sojourn. Yum Char is great for people watching. A woman was constantly shoving dim sum into her gob with her chopsticks, without taking her eyes off mobile phone which she held in her free hand. Her hapless dining companion sat there totally ignored. Treat Friday and thekeenbeans revival

If you know me, you’ll know that nothing gets me more excited than the thought of great and yummy food in my tum-tum..

Yesterday was the first  of many Friday lunch adventures with a work friend. We share a love of food and finding new restaurants. We both agreed we needed something to take our minds off the workload and something to keep us going during the week.

So we had yum char at Dragon Boat restaurant on Elliot street in Auckland CBD. It’s one of my favorite yum char places. And what’s funny is one of the servers remembered me and said ‘Nice to see you again’. hahaha. i need to find a new yum char place, looks like I go there too often! Anyway, lunch was great. We enjoyed the dumplings and duck and went back to work ready for a nap! 

I had dinner at Madam Woo in Takapuna with close friends and met someone new as well. One of my friends is a chef in Madam Woo and he wanted to get some feedback from us on their menu. It was perfect timing since his girlfriend received great news - she’d been made permanent in her new job! So it turned into a celebration. We ordered nearly 10 things from the menu and tried their desserts as well. Everything was amazing and our server was so nice. She didn’t hover, but also didn’t forget about us. The night was so fun that I forgot to take photos! Looks like i’ll have to go back with my co food blogger to do a proper review (yes, I have a food blog - thekeenbeans. it’s been inactive for nearly 2 years but watch this space for a revival!)
