The matter of the Ghost Bride is over and done with, but she's not the only ghostly royal looking for their beloved. There's also stories of a ghostly prince, who rises from his crypt every ten years to find his princess. Good thing NRC only has male students, so nothing ever happens!

Warm-up sketches for the day, Yumeimi channeling her inner Disney Princess....

Inspired by @beniyuuri's piece showing Yuuri's different stages, I did one for Yumeimi! Yes, she has had the same hairstyle pretty much her entire life. Which gives Vil conniptions when he finds out.

Elementary School: Starts well enough, all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and ready to take on the world. But by the second half of elementary school, she has lost her smile, due to a combination of bullying classmates, frustrated/apathetic teachers, and a family that doesn't see her so much as how exceptional she could be.

Middle School: The sea bunny hair ties appear, given as a prank that she didn't understand til later. Her bangs are getting longer and falling into her eyes. Nearer the end of middle school life, the overt bullying shifts to ignoring/excluding, she has even less to smile about. Starts wearing thick sweaters and cardigans to help herself hide.

High School/Pre-TWST: Becomes Assistant Coach to the swim team so she can have something to do/someplace to belong, it doesn't work. Has started fending for herself at home since her family is too busy with those who 'deserve it more' (her thoughts, not their words). Through cooking her own meals, discovers how much fun bento-making is. Attempted to cut her own bangs, this went horribly wrong and she's stuck with teeny bangs now.

Post-NRC/Future: Flourishing. Thriving. Moisturized. Loved. In her lane. Continues to cut her bangs super short because she kinda likes this look actually, and she no longer wants to hide. Hair in a single braid, though she's swapped the sea bunnies for a seashell as her default. Favors classic lolita-leaning fashion, no longer hides behind heavy/loose cardigans.

Had a thought yesterday of the fake dream people trying to keep Yumeimi from leaving, like they do in some of the other Book 7 dreams... and then that thought went "Wait, hey, wouldn't it be funny in a way if we used Ursula's line in Little Mermaid? Remember that line?"

Also it gave me an excuse to put Yumeimi in her homeworld's uniform.

I couldn't decide between normal Yumeimi and Yu-mer-mi, so have both.

So I got possessed and ended up finishing the entry for @hanizmiyu's TWST fanevent like, really fast....

It was a tough call between sakura and rose servers but I couldn't resist the siren song of taisho fashion 8'D Yumeimi is a maid!

Talked to a friend about the idea of Yumeimi attending an underwater event, keeping a careful watch for Azul's former bullies or teachers who turned a blind eye, and anytime it seems someone recognizes him and tries to get close, she suddenly becomes a silly land-walking tourist and drags him somewhere else to show her what that thing over there is.

But they do get separated eventually. Yumeimi finds herself surrounded by merfolk who want information. She tries to keep her responses neutral and polite at first, but they keep pressing for more. Some of the questions and comments get very pointed. She slowly starts to get more tense. Azul's been looking for her, has just spotted her and is about to come extract her from the crowd when suddenly he hears her shout: "What are you all trying to gain from all of this? If you're trying to get to know him, then you already missed your chance! And if you're trying to get more ammunition for some- some sick mind game, then you'll get nothing from me. I like him! He's clever and smart and kind and fun to be with and if you still can't see that, then-- then you don't even deserve to breath the same water as he does!"

Yumeimi: Underwater Ball

Not an official fan event, but A; I'm weak for dressing up characters/OCs, and B; a friend of mine said an underwater fancy event would be fun to dress Yumeimi for. So after I made a dress (under the readmore) I made fake cards for her too.

Yumiemi's dress is meant to evoke a jellyfish, and her hairstyle is actually called "the jellyfish style." "How is she managing this if she can't swim, though?" 'Breathe underwater potion' + 'shh just go with it.'
