Yunalesca reveals her true colors, and Auron charges the party with choosing how their story proceeds: die and find release, or live and face their sadness. Each of the party members decides to fight, and Auron vows to finish what he started 10 years ago.

Spoilers for this old ass game under the cut

I have reached Yunalesca for the bajillionth time, and the intro cutscene for the boss fight is just a fucking masterpiece.

Wakka and Lulu quoting scripture, although in very different ways: Wakka is clinging to what he has known all his life, and Lulu is adamant that the teachings of Yevon will rid the world of Sin.

Yuna's speech is just amazing and Hedy Burress delivers it so well, and on top of that it's a MAJOR turning point for Yuna's character even more than it is for most of the cast.

She had believed in the lies fed to her and the rest of Spira by what is essentially a thousand year old theocracy up until this point, and vows to go on in spite of losing a key part of her beliefs -- in spite of losing the false hope that the process provides.

It's an important scene for Wakka too, faced with a similar choice as he had been before the first battle with Seymour. Yet instead of the reluctance seen then and the immediate aftermath of being branded traitors, he vows to protect Yuna with his life and rejecting Yevon in the process.

But the part that always sticks with me is Auron's part at the end:

"Die and be free of pain, or live and fight your sorrow. This is the time to shape your stories, your fate is in your hands!"

It just all comes together perfectly, and the voice actors are so incredible ajfjrbhahxhe I love this silly game so much
