#HASHTAGHIPHOP FEATURED INTERVIEW: @yungctheshadow
We had the pleasure of doing a Q & A interview with up and coming artist, Yung C. Take a look into the life of this talented individual. His latest track “Hard Times With Feelings”
Everybody knows me as Yung C, I've had that name for a very long time, My real names Chris but only a few good friends and family seem to want to call me that.
2. What state are you from and what area do you rep?
I'm from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I was born there back when the 6 was T dot. I grew up most of my life in Sauga, a city that boarders Toronto. I moved around a lot back and forth but now days I'm just all over the place.
3. Who are your biggest influences/inspirations?
Man to be honest that's a hard one. It's changed so much over time as I grew up. A lot of my inspiration comes from non music related experiences I went threw in my life. It's given me my substance and a lot to always talk about.
I've had the best and worst life.
If we are just talking about music Eminem really inspired me as a kid because back then there were no white rappers really. I listened to a lot of Big, a lot of 50 & G-Unit, Obie Trice and Talib Kweli.
A lot of classic rock like Van Halen, Guns N Roses, The Beatles and David Bowie. I Listened to a lot of Michael Jackson, TLC, Bob Marley, and even stuff like Frank Sinatra and Mozart. I Grew up with a very un bias well rounded love and knowledge for music. As I got older I was really into Young Jeezy, Styles P, Jadakiss & S.A.S Euro Gang. Lately I been listening to a lot of Skepta, Migos, The whole OVO camp, Tory Lanez and Max B. Music itself and life experience is inspiration.
4. Why did you decide to make Hip-Hop music?
It just kind of clicked. I had two major experiences that stayed stuck in my head my whole life since I was 7 that were music related. I kind of just knew after the second one, I have to do this. I have to do everything I can from that moment on to train myself to learn all i can about this and be the best I can be. It could have been that I had a rough upbringing, not much of a childhood and didn't fit in that made me want to have a real talent for something. It comes down to I just knew and I've never stopped since.
5. What makes you different than every other artist?
What makes me different? I've never been the same. I think about things more than the average. I position myself from outside of the box, Think outside of it, Watch patterns, Understand how, Consider whats consistent and whats just a trend. I learn quickly, I'm respectful and humble but I keep it fuckin real.
6. Where can people find you?
You can find me all over Ontario but if thats a shot in the shadows follow me on twitter & instagram @yungctheshadow
