So before I write about this next artist, let me just get something out. He was the first ever submission to Modesic. I was literally bouncing, acting crazy, saying, "Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! SUBMISSION! SOMEONE SUBMITTED! OH MY GOSH!!!" ..You get the point..I was just way too excited haha. Yung Rep, was the first to submit, so he's special you guys. And I'm not just saying that because he was the first to submit but truth be told he definitely is special. Now do you all remember Kilo Jones? Yes, yes. The one who did the Avant-Garde album that was shown here on Modesic a few posts back. Yung Rep is actually featured on his album so if you haven't heard the album or the song that Yung Rep was featured on yet, make sure you check out Kilo's album! (Note: look under our tags page to find it.)
One of the songs that I first heard from Yung Rep was "Holy God." Soon as I heard it, I was hooked to his music. The beat was wicked; the lyrics were cool; the song basically just drew me in. "You're here for the moment..I'm here for the taking," was a favorite of mine on "Holy God," To me in a way, it's saying, others may be here trying to get their chance in the spotlight but their spotlight won't last for long. It would be Yung Rep who stands amongst them all. But then again that could just be me over thinking a line and trying to find meaning to it when there wasn't even one in the first place (I'm known to do that).
He did a song with Mike Milli called "Fell Off" needless to say I favored this song more than the others. I'm not entirely sure why it caught my attention so much but it did. As soon as the song started, I realized it would be interesting. The first part, "Fell off, fell off, fell off again..." was intriguing and what followed after was even more intriguing. But I'm not saying what followed after, you'll just have to listen to the song to find out. *whistles* Now don't be shy, you know you want to listen and find out what the heck I'm talking about. After you listen why not listen to his other songs as well? No one's going to stop you.
Although do take note, younglings, don't listen to this song on a high volume without headphones in. As stated before, we here at Modesic are not responsible for little kiddies who get in trouble with their parents about songs they may deem inappropriate with the amount of cursing in them. So if you want, take a risk, turn your volume up all the way it can go and make the entire neighborhood listen to it. If you so happen to get in trouble..well...it's not like we didn't warn you.
