Are you still taking questions/requests on your AUs? Because since I am an OBNOXIOUSLY self-indulgent person I want to hear more about the jedistormpilot/Cloud City Queens/LandoLukeMara “once upon a December” AU, if you can!

Not self indulgent at all - I am delighted to talk about them!

All the cloud city queens have a flower themed necklace (they are in all the graphics but Sabes because I forgot) they were given at birth because Theme ™

Beru “I’m James Bond but functional and also better and technically not a spy” is known for kicking dudes out of her bed and especially known for doing so to go and look after her sisters. (Beru “whatever the fuck your name is, time to go my sisters are coming over”) 

Shmi is the quietly terrifying to outsiders one. People who work for her love her though. Also small kids. Actually she’s mostly terrifying to people who are like, rude to waitstaff type people. Is currently designing a royal wedding dress  (she probably in fact designed her sisters wedding dresses) 

Breha (Rey) was kidnapped by The First Order but one of the kidnappers developed a conscience and took Rey away to his parents who raised her for the first three or four years of her life (they were genuinely lovely people). He was killed and when they died Rey was shoved into a foster home run by Local Crime Lord Unca Platt who used the kids to like, steal stuff. She ended up essentially living on the street and scavenging things from a junkyard in return for food (she lives in an abandoned small plane in that junkyard). 

Poe is a doctor with MSF who was an army doctor who flew helicopters for rescue missions for General Organa. He was working in a dangerous area and was kidnapped by The First Order because they thought he Knew Things? (Finn rescued him, somehow they find Rey). 

It’s a really epic love story.

Thank you for your answer! I am SO GLAD other people like Lando/Luke, ppl need to get with it and see the light. I also loved Luke/Mara as a kid; in fact i had her solo comic (still do, and it's falling apart lol), and apparently didn't know she and Luke would eventually get together bc i distinctly remember picking up an NJO book when i was, like, 10 and being like "omg they're MARRIED?!" It was the best day EVER

My first foray into the Expanded Universe was with the New Jedi Order. And the entire time I was like - wait? Luke is married? Wait, Han and Leia have children? What all did I miss? And then I had to pick up a bunch of stuff and start over because I was totally in the dark. One of the reasons I actually recommend some of The New Jedi Order is because they do cool things with Mara in it. Unlike those Legacy of the Force books.

Who likes the cold? Finn (some of that is because he is English and frankly he adores the entire concept of winter half out of Pure Stubborn because Fuck You He Is Going To Enjoy Being Cold and also the heat is terrible). Rey has a lot of bad memories of being in terrible houses in the heat (or with no housing at all) so she just embraces the cold and the rain because WOW.

Who cuddles up under the duvet and refuses to move? Poe. He hates the cold. Okay he’s used to it now (somewhat) but he still hates the cold. He wants to migrate somewhere warm for the entirety of the winter and possibly the autumn as well (summer is his time). 

Who builds a snowman/cat/alien? Rey and Finn build incredibly elaborate snow forts. That’s just a fact. If you coax Poe out into the snow he will probably make gorgeous snow angels. 

Do they celebrate anything in winter? Poe is Jewish, the Finn in this AU is ‘Anglican Because British Nobility’ (he’s the son of a Duke) and Rey is kind of like ‘nominally I’m something secular christian from growing up but I’ve tended more towards privately pagan recently but that’s very loose’ so it’s a bit of a mishmash. Poe definitely does Hanukkah though - the lighting the candles is one of his favourite things and Finn had his family chef make kosher options for Poe when they go to Finn’s family for Christmas Day (Poe finds this weird because Christmas Day for him is like ‘movies and takeout day’ (Their eventual kids are raised interfaith, I think though it probably does lean more towards Judaism in that they go to Synagogue etc). 

 What wintery activities do they like? Poe will say that he does love ice skating and also going to see The Nutcracker at Convent Garden and getting hot chocolate/mulled wine at the outdoor markets is pretty special. But really he likes snuggling up in a warm room watching the snow and the lights. Finn loves decorating the house/the tree (actually Rey loves that too), he enjoys watching Poe doing baking and watching nativity plays (actually he just kind of adores the entire season). Rey is delighted by the food. Delighted. 

If they were snowed in somewhere, what would they do? I mean yes Doing Stuff In Bed but also like, reading, TV show marathons, games and probably someone (Poe) is constructing an elaborate model of a plane of some sort. 

Do they like wintery food/drink, if so - what kind? Rey is deeply fond of all the foods. Finn likes cookies (biscuits) and especially a delicious kind of honey cake (there’s a recipe that has been in his family since before the Norman Conquest. Finn’s family can trace their dukedom back to a sister of Alfred the Great and they’ve always been known as just, kind and prosperous lords. Also one of his ancestors married Anne Boleyn after she gained a divorce from Henry thanks to him and they had like ten kids. #facts) that isn’t exactly wintery but it’s become a winter tradition. Poe will eat an entire bowl of these 

 Favourite wintery colour? Silver & Blue (Poe), Green & Red (Finn) and Green and Blue (Rey)

Who always forgets a hat/scarf/gloves and who lets the other one have theirs? Poe always carries spares because see above about hating the cold, Finn genuinely doesn’t feel the cold so much so mostly they end up giving Rey one of the spares because she forgets in the excitement. 

How do they celebrate the New Year? Flying Somewhere Incredibly Tropical. (Well not too tropical because FINN OBJECTS HE IS ENGLISH but reasonably tropical. Or at least ‘tropical but with air conditioning’) 

Do they have any winter traditions? They will both go with Poe to Synagogue and he will go the nativity service with the Tiny Little Kids at the church on the Finn Family Estate. They have Christmas Day Lunch with Finn’s Family and then usually visit Poe’s family for Giant Passover Seder later on. Also there has to be gingerbread decorating, the nutcracker and Doctor Who. 

Favourite way to warm up? The PG version is definitely cuddling up together in front of the TV/the fire with a whole bunch of books/hanging out with electronic devices in bed and having breakfast. 

Favourite winter clothes? Coats. Coats and Boots. (Rey also enjoys colourful winter tights because I just think she would). 

Who gets a cold and who looks after them? Poe gets a cold and he is extremely looked after by Finn (Rey is like ‘I love you but AAAGH plague carrier here have some books I have shoved under the door bye’). 

Their favourite thing about winter? Nutcracker & Lighting The Candles (Poe), Family and Food (Rey and really all of them but especially Rey) and Snow, Lights and Family (Finn).
