Minggu lalu berbagi karya film masterpiece lagi untuk ditonton dan dinikmati bersama dari rumah masing2. Kali ini mencoba melihat karya2 ajaib Yuri Norstein @norstein_norshteyn mulai dari Hedgehog in the Fog (1975), Tale of Tales (1979) sampai Winter Days (2003) yang semuanya dibuat dengan teknik cut out animation. Seperti biasa, appreciation week nobar di Kamis diakhiri dengan membuat artwork dari karya film yang ditonton. So, inilah beberapa karya teman magang yang keren2 dan jangan lupa, cari filmnya ya! 最近映画を鑑賞する頻度が僕自身賑やかになっているが、美術や芸術など古典的で新鋭的な物事や感情には全く興味がないから感情だけで観に行った。ただゴーゴリの外套のアカーキイの素朴で幸せな気持ちを知ってたから観た。ノルシュテインは、この作品を待ってる人は待たなくて良いと言ってたが、正論。 芸術や美学視点で観てはいけないとハッキリ言う。アバンギャルドではダメ。 アカーキイの気持ちで読むと言う事。そこにアートなど要らない。ノルシュテインはそこにアニメーションを取り入れただけ。それがサグラダファミリアと同じく完成しないだけ。 #nikolaigogol #theovercoat #yurinorstein #外套 https://www.instagram.com/p/BwZ911jlq2z/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=h2sktk80hru

Yuri Norstein, Tale of Tales (1979)

I am going to take influence from the work of Yuri Norstein, especially his animation ‘hedgehog in the fog’, I would like to draw from his use of the misty/blurriness that seems to settle over the film and how subtle the colors in it are, only with the occasional addition of something. The pace of the film is also really well done and he manages to balance comedy with melancholy which is what I hope to achieve in my animation. In my animation I will also use a multiplane and shoot from a similar perspective to Norstein, as you can see in the gif of the hedgehog and the owls the perspective taken is usually from the side with a bit of the ground showing, this allows you to see the full character and to have a large are to move in from side to side. I will also take inspiration from the main character of the hedgehog and it’s movement as Norstein has managed to make a really lively and expressive creature which I would like emulate in my creations. The way that he has created the puppet of hedgehog, with the movement of his little legs and his hands holding his little nap sack, have all made the creature very lovable and identifiable. I am going to make sure that the movements of the pigeon in my animation are very characterful.
