here are some assorted headcanons:

he sucks major ass at making nests. typical pigeon style. even in big shot era and beforehand.. if he puts actual thought into it he can make a Decent Enough nest but if hes got serious bird brain then . nop

i imagine hes normally pretty stand-offish, and tends to avoid contact, but when hes comfortable he seeks out physical contact quite often

he lieks to sit on tennas chest or the top of his head. warm

stolen directly from all other spamton enjoyers: he likes piano and is interested in mechanics. hooray!

idk if ive explained this in a different post yet but! when i draw spamton with slit pupils that is usually him being birdbrained. i thought it would be funny if he gained a thousand yard stare when his bird instincts were going wild (i imagine all addisons do it)

continued from the last one, it took tenna a while to realise what The Stare meant. he would get increasingly unnerved over time by it until he connects the right dots and goes 'ohhh. hes in silly mode rn'

most typical avian headcanons apply here. preening is very significant, nests are made with loved one's clothes/belongings, ect ect

pigeons arent known for 'ooh shiny' but i think spamton can like shiny things too. as a treat. hes an addison he likes golden things

spamton can coo but hes embarrased by it

in my extensive research (youtube videos of pigeons being petted), pigeons seem to do a special kind of coo when they want attention. as well as little head bobs and wing twitches. you can just assume that most pigeon body language translates onto spamton in some form or another

COURTING!! we all love avian courting. if not idk why youre here tbh - pigeon mating dance is walking in circles while bowing repeatedly. to expand on this, im pushing in mating dances from more different pigeon species .. - crested pigeons just bow repeatedly without circle walking, while also spreading their tail feathers. i want to pin this one on spamton too because i think it looks goofy (whenever i see clips of them i go 'hes throwing it back so hard to no avail' and i think spamton should do this) - i think spamton should start bobbing his head around tenna without realising. or just nodding a lot. when he realises he gets EXTREMELY flustered and leaves the room without elaborating. way to go king

addisons dont walk very well? they can walk decently enough, but not for very long and not very fast. they can hop better then they can walk. in the place of speed-walking they tend to hop (or more like a skipping motion?) and in the place of running they'll just fly. unless for whatever reason they cant fly, in that case they will probly do a weird almost-diagonal run

singing/dancing will always be a big part of avian culture to me. i think spamton tends to distance himself from that part of addison culture- at first because he was the Loser Spam Email Guy that no one liked, and then later because he didnt want to associate with addisons at all. because of his lack of practice he is a terrible singer LMAO

uhh. addisons can be all kinds of bird species. the most successful addisons tend to be the ones with the brightest feathers (parrots, lorikeets, some finches, ect). because of the association between brighter plumage and success, these addisons tend to also be of higher social status. this doesnt bode well for poor pigeon spam. grey ass bird

spamton doesnt like being called a pigeon, especially in big shot era (pigeons still have the 'bird pest' reputation). he insists that he is a dove. hes not wrong, technically, its just that he definetely Is also a pigeon

Or Mycroft suspects an amorous connection between Sherlock and James, and he does his best to ensure that they don't find themselves in any legal trouble (AKA Mycroft goes about supporting his troublesome little brother in the most Mycroft way possible)

I fear that I might be alone on this, but one thing that annoyed me about the books (which, mind you I read years ago, when I was a impressionable 14 year old) is the fact that sexuality is wayyyy too polished and perfect. So are the characters too imo.

Like.

Scarlett is sooo perfect and sexy and alluring and charming, that it almost feels as if the narrative is more so sexualising her, than that she is doing so. She is not in full control of her agency when it comes to being sexualized (I mean duh characters are plot tools but still) and in no way does she explore that on her own. Which I feel like. Would have been wayyyy way better. And empowering. For a young adult book yknow. A girl on the brink of womanhood exploring what being sexy means to her. Or why she even feels the need to be sexy and charming, and that also in regard to how she views relationships and sex. Why can’t she commit? What is she scared of? Why does having many surface level relationships excite her? This way she’d be less of a stereotype and more of a well rounded character.

I see the same issue with Tyler and Cat’s one night stand. It could have been more impactful by emphasizing that both have sex for the first time. The first time!!!!!

And idk maybe I’m naive but in my eyes that’s like. Suuuuch a huge intimate thing!! Especially when you’ve never done it before and don’t know how it works or what to expect!!

The fact they do it with each other (even if so drunk) speaks volumes for the trust they share. To show yourself to someone at your most vulnerable and believe they’ll hold you with care. Combine that with both of em having issues with vulnerability and boom. Higher stakes for their friendship and way more complex and realistic. This way her dying would have been more gut-wrenching. The one person he felt vulnerable and weird and awkward around is gone. That he allowed himself to only ever be fully human with her.

Sex is awkward and sweet and intimate and absurd. Especially when it’s your first time and you don’t really know what to do or how to properly love the other person and their body. You don’t know what to do but you want to do right for the other person (isn’t he a huge perfectionist too?? would make him more human instead of just focusing on his dimples ughhh) I would have liked it more if that awkwardness showed. Like. Nervous shared laughter. Kisses that are sloppy and messy. Underneath all that unspoken tenderness reserved only for the other. But like I said my view on sex is a bit well. Idealistic. So yea. Take that with a grain of salt.

Generally all the characters are imo too perfect. Like. I don’t think banter should always be the case. If anything it should be used to highlight how some characters share a special connection and can understand each other deeply and know that “dance of banter”? cause idk. Let someone else join in and mess up and say something that’s awkward. Let characters be real and human and messy I beg!!!!
