Do you have any tips for writing podcast scripts? All the dialogue in the bright sessions sounds so real and the pacing is amazing; how do you do it?
Firstly, thanks! I try really hard to make my dialogue as realistic as possible. I’d say the biggest thing is making each character’s voice really clear and specific. Figure out what their speech pattern is - do they use filler words, do they start and stop sentences a lot, do they trail off, do they use slang, do they say “yes” or “yeah”, etc. I personally like to write in all the “um”s and “like”s into my script because it helps me define the rhythm of the dialogue.
Listen to the people around you. Pay attention to the speech patterns of your friends and family and see what little things you’ve adopted from the people you spend time with. Speak out loud as you write - make sure things sound natural off the page.
Good luck!
