katara’s love language is physical touch i mean she’s such a touchy person she has no qualms about giving hugs to people or holding their hands she loves people ! she loves expressing affection through touch but there’s more to it than that like when she was growing up it was just a given that there was a need to huddle together when sleeping or that she would jump on hakoda’s back and hug him but when kya died there wasn’t a lot of hugging and there wasn’t a lot of what she was used to and katara had to watch everyone become shells of themselves and she had to watch her big brother harden and hold himself up to the standards he thought he needed to reach to become hakoda, and all she could do was be katara so she single-handedly brought her family back together, she let them be comfortable again and she understands the pain that comes with losing someone and how sometimes people just need a hug
