Now it's a matching set. As is right. I gifted the piece on the right to Mog a little bit ago and then began working on his twin sister because she deserves attention, too. She's stunning! And you just can't have one without the other. ♥

Sword Dancer of Eilistraee

It took Coranzan 130 years to earn the title 'Sword Dancer of Eilistraee'. He's simultaneously immensely proud and frustrated by that fact.

After Coranzan's failed surface raid in 1332 DR, the Paladin of Lathander, Lórindol, escorted the twins to the Waterdeep to verify their claim of a connection to Eilistraeens. From there, they rejoined their parents at the Promenade of the Dark Maiden, having little else to turn to. Coranzan and Z'ress ( @susann-noir ) spent time reconsidering his path, speaking with the Eilistraeens there, and eventually joining them.

Coranzan had met a few role models that counseled him and inspired him to join the Clergy. Chiefly, a human bard layworshipper that married into Eilistraeenism, Mog Ruith. And a kind and patient priestess, Nixana Khalazza ( @pavusprince ), who guided him and tempered his angry and bitter heart.

However, for those that knew Coranzan in his previous life, he carries a reputation as a former Keptolite propagandist in commoner circles. Although many of Eilistraee's priestesses were ex-Lolthite Priestesses themselves, Coranzan did not find many that trusted him as Keptolites were known for their silver tongues and manipulation.

Combined with the fact that Eilistraeens refused to accept male clergy until 1373 DR and further restricted men to join without having Changedanced until Eilistraee's return in 1489. Coranzan's progress among the EIlistraeen's was slow, partly due to a mistrust of men seeking positions in Eilistraee's Church and partly due to the fact that Coranzan was not afraid to trade barbs with the Priestesses of Eilistraee. They deemed him arrogant and power-hungry - an assessment not entirely without merit.

He was accepted as a novice in 1377 DR, and trains diligently with whoever will accept him, including his parents, his mentors, and volunteers for whatever opportunities he's allowed. Although Coranzan is indeed ambitious and seeks position, he also strongly believes in Eilistraee's message and feels anger for those who were misled by Lolth (and Keptolo) as he was.

Coranzan is finally accepted as a Cleric of Eilistraee after Eilistraee announces her return and reveals herself as a vision dancing in the moonlight along the walls of Waterdeep in 1489 DR. Coranzan was near drowned in hopelessness when this occured and having witnessed it personally invigorated him.

Shortly after returning to the Promenade, he prayed to her feverishly, a combination of hope and desperation. A century of hard work and dedication led to a tearful and grief-stricken prayer Eilistraee couldn't ignore. She said nothing, but her music could be heard and her glowing presence felt. Coranzan was blessed with his hair being cast alight with silvery dancing flames. Returning to the priestesses, he showed Eilistraee's blessing, and they could no longer deny that he'd earned her favor. He finally became a Sword Dancer of Eilistraee in 1491 DR at 262 years old.

ingot's last combat turn of the entire campaign he made four attacks, hit all of them, and did 125 damage. the first one would have been a crit but the bbeg used chronal shift to make me reroll. but the LAST last turn of the entire campaign was z'ress making three attacks, the last of which was a crit that couldn't be cancelled. the last d20 roll of reforged world was a natural 20. I rolled 4d8+20d6+21 for 98 damage. that was the last roll of the campaign. twenty d6es in my palms.

I'll have something more emotional to say later. I have a lot to say about it.

ingot in #44 r u mine?
