The LR-300 ML is produced by Z-M weapons as a mix between the classic AR-15/M16 direct-impingement system (see: shitting in your own mouth) and an upper operation rod in the top of the handguard similar to the M14 and Kalashnikov. This allows an overall shorter design allowing for a skeletal, folding stock. The weapon features a Phantom flash suppressor and a 1:9 twist ratio with a chrome-lined barrel.
The gun is being sold as an excellent alternative to the other standard AR designs for close-quarters combat. However, while the rifle is undeniably beautiful it's simply not very "innovative" (as to compared the KAC SR-15 or Barrett REC7) compared to the original AR design. However, the weapon does control recoil much more easily, and serves as an attractive range rifle.
