The Letter Fanfiction Brainstorming

I have an idea for a fanfiction I want to write for the Visual Novel The Letter, but I have some details I need to work out before I start writing it.

If anyone’s interested in helping me brainstorm, please message me! The fic is gonna be based off of the Friendship Negative ending, and contain Zach/Hannah and Ashton/Isabella.

This fandom needs more zachannah ;_;

It does! As much as I love Ashbella, Zachannah is precious and adorable and needs more love!

I’ll just go with a generic, everyone lives route for this:

Zach and Hannah don’t get together right away, but Zach is quick to introduce her to his friends formally and they all know it’s gonna happen

Hannah gets along with Becky best, which, is kinda awkward since everyone knows she and Hannah’s ex-husband have something going on

Zach is there throughout the entire pregnancy and birth of the twins. They called him “dada” before they called Hannah “mama” or anything. Hannah wasn’t upset, though, Zach was freaking out because no kids, I’m not your dad, your daddy is a jerkwad who deserves to rot in prison!

Zach and Hannah only start going out once the twins turn six. Annaliese asks why Hannah wouldn’t just marry him, he’s practically their stepfather already

Zach and Hannah never technically move in together. Zach still technically lives at his studio, and he does spend the nights there sometimes when he works super late, but they’re not fooling anyone

They never marry either, but they are common law at this point

Annaliese and Henry Lucas adore Zach, and Hannah often uses them as an excuse to see him during work. “the kids insisted they wanted to see you now, and who am I to deny them?”

They never have a child of their own, but neither feel they need one. Henry Lucas and Annaliese are as much Zach’s kids as they are Hannah’s

Luke never quite comes to accept Zach, but he learns to tolerate him. Zach’s not his biggest fan, but he acknowledges that he’s a wonderful father to his kids and doesn’t try to hinder their visits. It helps that Becca’s always there with him and their “big sister” Kylie, to keep Luke in check. Hannah trusts him explicitly

Hannah still loves Luke, somewhat, and Luke still loves her, but they both agree they are better off apart. Zach is aware of this, but he doesn’t mind: he knows Hannah would never betray him like that, and Hannah does come to love Zach more, even if Luke is always present in her heart

My best friend’s favourite couple is zachannah, even though she accidentally botched their relationship in Zach’s chapter. As such, I have promised some Zachannah focused fics for her!…It’ll just take a little while :P

The Letter plot bunnies

Ashbella spinoff of my fic A Raven Warning where the ravens visit Ash and Isabella.

Zach/Hannah - Zach invites Hannah to a writing group that he goes to and Ashton gatecrashes it with a haiku.

Luke/Hannah or Luke/Becca - Camping and Luke freaking out over every little thing and depending on drinks and getting overly worried when Kylie and the kids do things like climb trees and play in the rain. I had this scene in my head where he jumps onto Hannah’s bed on the caravan.

Hannah: Luke, what are you doing on my bed?

Luke: It’s my bed, I believe I did pay for it.

Hannah: On my credit card...

Marianne/Hannah - Marriane drunk, goes on a banter, tries reading a book but fails miserably and gets her toe stuck in the tap.

Luke/Hannah - Hannah picks up an estrayed dog on the road and takes it home with her. Turns out to be a snow vulpix.

So as of recently, I’ve found this wonderful horror visual novel game called: The Letter.

If you want some information on the game click here. Right now I am just gushing over my all-time favorite OTP from the game. I’ve seen Ashton x Isabella, and while they are adorable in their own right - I see NOTHING or barely anything of Hannah Wright Evans x Zachery Steele. Which is sad. They are literally made for each other and it hurts because of the sweetness.

Actually, I’ve been tossing headcanons about the two after the events of The Letter at @meiaushzz ! Figured I should post them here in case anyone wanted to read em. <3

After the divorce and starting up the Evans’ company Zach keeps an eye on Hannah during her pregnancy. Often times between photo shoots, he stops by her office and drops off food or little treats for her to enjoy on busy, possibly hectic stress inducing days.

The idea of marriage between the two is never really spoken of while they see one another. It is clear they absolutely love one another, but for some reason or another neither really talk about getting married. In truth, it is out of respect on Zach’s part. To give Hannah time to settle herself, get established, and be happy after her previous marriage ended in failure. And Zach wanted her kids to be old enough to understand the notion he wasn’t their dad but he still would love them despite that.

After hearing about the small parties Zach hosts with friends and family from time to time, Hannah always tries to clear her schedule to attend them. She teases him playfully about his dancing, smiling and laughing as she remembers the first time she danced with him.

Early in her pregnancy, Hannah would worry constantly about the small stuff. Worrying about how she’d love her child enough or if she’d be a good mother when she herself was pampered and left alone with nursemaids. Zach tries his best to help her through those little ‘first baby jitters’, often helping her relax or going out someplace for peace and quiet. When she has really bad days he gets his older sister to talk to Hannah, as his sister had children and went through a similar situation as Hannah.

Hannah typically comes over Zach’s studio to watch movies with him and see the wonderful pictures he’s taken from various projects. Her favorites are the ones he’s taken on his spare time, of landscapes far from Luxemburg. Animals take second place in her heart. But the vegetation, greenery, the change in seasons, quiet cozy homes by the forests - are things she can’t help adore.

During Hannah’s first doctor’s appointment, they don’t seem to see the second baby growing inside. It isn’t until her second one a month later Hannah finds out she’s having twins. She’s both excited and even more worried because now she’s got two little ones to mother for her first time. Zach is the first one she tells. He’s happy for her since he knows she wanted kids and now, she’s got two on the way.

When Hannah finally goes into labor its at the office, a quick in and out of the building to gather some things before heading home. It’s late. And she never expected for the babies to be a week early. Frantically she calls Zach for help because she trusts and loves him. Despite it being late Zach is up and driving her to the hospital.

After the twins are cleaned up and swaddled in cloth Hannah *subtly* hands off one of the little ones to Zach after she insists the staff let him in. Hannah gives them an earful for not doing so earlier just because he isn’t their father or her husband. He’s still dear to her and as a boyfriend, it still gives him the right to be in her hospital room.

Zach absolutely loves the twins. The two have him wrapped around their little fingers - and he doesn’t mind.

During Hannah’s little visits to his studio, the twins can’t help but beg and plead to see him too, even as little toddlers or babies they have to see him.

Henry, the youngest of the twins, wouldn’t stop crying when Zach had to give him back to Hannah to be fed after he was born. Food didn’t appeal to the little fella and just wanted to be held and snuggled.

The twins couldn’t say Zach or Zachary so they could call him Za-Za. As they got older they could say his name properly but, they spelled his name Zakky on pictures. Zach laughed and tried to teach em how to write his name properly, as well as their own names.

Once the twins were born and well after movie night became a little family event between all four of them. As infants, they’d gurgle and sleep in Hannah’s and Zach’s arm. As toddlers and children? snuggling up against their sides this time, with blankets over their little bodies as they fall asleep halfway through the movie.

Just like Hannah Annalise adores Zach’s pictures. She enjoys the photos of animals - even the ones with scary looking ones (birds and wolves). She constantly begs Zach to take a picture of horses or ponies for he whenever he can! Zach promises her when he finds a horse he’ll take a picture and let her keep it.

Like his sister, Henry likes the pictures. But he likes the spooky looking ones with huge forests and seemingly empty houses (which aren’t empty as Zach tells him). Photos taken at night always gets him going about how cool they look with the lights in the background.

Eventually, Zach opens up about his past to Hannah during a very… problematic time. He knows she won’t understand but… he wants her to know in case something goes wrong. While people aren’t rude to his face he knows a few people aren’t happy such a rich lady like Hannah is seeing a man like him, black and not as… well off as her.

Hannah assures him if anything were to happen to him, she’d personally set them straight and keep him safe. As she puts it ‘people are shite’ and she doesn’t care what they think now. They are happy together.

Eventually, the twins bring up the question of who their father is. Zach is the one who they ask first because Zach always seems surprised to hear papa from the two. Zach tries to explain to them, to the best of his ability, that no, he isn’t their father. And that he still loves them as his own kids even if he isn’t. Zach does tell them to ask their mother about the subject because it should be her telling them this stuff. And he does stress to Hannah, to be honest with them. Better they know now then know later and hate her for keeping the knowledge from them.

Sometimes Zach lets the kids come with him on his photo shoots, allowing them to see him work and get out and see new places. Of course, he makes sure they promise to behave and in return for being good, he’ll buy them something nice that they want. They get to pick.

Somehow along the way, Zach ends up doing up Annalise’s hair in whatever style she wants… provided he knows how to. The girl absolutely loves having her hair brushed with little ribbons she asks him to put in.

During the holidays Zach insists Hannah (and the twins when they are born) to come around his place for a nice party and good food. Hannah almost always attends.

Hannah and Zach are not afraid to show public affection towards one another. Holding hands, kissing, warm smiles for one another, and terms of endearment (on Hannah’s end) are common for the two of them when they are either alone or out and about. Often times Zach’s face turns slightly red from all of Hannah ’s constant affection.
