Considering the two of them are somewhat estranged from their families, I totally see these two having a brotherly type bond.
Hence, Zach would be like the brother Dez always wanted. Dez would look at Zach as more of a big brother even though he’s older (probably due to maturity?)

Them being competitive over literally everything (especially Dez because he’s prideful af).
