Zack Lopez has an easily recognized voice. It’s sandy raw yet deeply comforting, particularly if you’ve become familiar with it over the past decade in a long lasting love affair with Sacramento alt rock band Middle Class Rut. Though MC Rut is currently on hiatus, fans of the band’s frontman have much to satiate their sonic appetite by way of Zack Lopez’s solo career. From his record Bloodlines, which came out but a little over a month ago, comes Wasted Words, a crunchy glimmering, crinkled hooking alt rock song with plenty of strident MC Rut panache plus a touch of pop punk allure and a sublime guitar solo. The new music video for Wasted Words is stark and striking. The visual, which was filmed, directed, & edited by Tomas Montoya, focuses in on the angst and restless emotion which Zack expresses with such authentic vigor while belting out the song.
